I want to make a back-up copy of my standard distro, on a 4 GBy SD. I'm trying to use parted on Ubuntu 12.04 (which I use for everything else). parted takes a copy of the FAT16 boot partition. parted fails (repeatedly) on the 2nd ext3 partition with "Can't read bitmap block 0 from image". The sd works just fine in the pi. I'm no expert at all about what's iunder the hood in partitioning. Cananyone advise on what is going wrong here, perhaps how to get around it (different software?).
