Hello,
I have a pretty good understanding of exchange, but this is stumping me.
When I terminate a user, I back up their e-mail, disable and delete their AD account and create a distribution list to forward mail to the manager, etc. Well, it turns out internal e-mails are not forwarding, only external. An internal client who e-mails this terminated employee gets a bounce-back error - proclaiming the mailbox does not exist. When someone external e-mails this terminated user, it forwards to the recipients just fine.
I added the smtp e-mail to the e-mail addresses tab - as I have always done. What's extra strange is that this happens most the time, but in some cases internal and external forwarding work just as it should for random users... configurations are identical.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advanced.
