  1. We did experience nightmares with Windows Updates and looping issues; however, we got in touch with their tech support and they helped us configure our environment that the boot loops stopped immediately. The key points where to make sure the workstations are online by setting a WOL task; then to make sure they don't go into Standby / Sleep when the updates are getting installed and also make sure to use the caching of Windows Updates for faster installation. We've got two sites with Deep Freeze and one of them downloads the updates from the Internet and other uses a WSUS server, both environments have been working fine since the last couple of versions and the recommended settings. Give it a shot or get in touch with their tech support – they are amazing.
  2. I have tried it on Windows 7 machine but it makes my machine too slow. It takes too much time to create an image. So finally I have uninstalled it. Now I'm using Deep Freeze it makes my work easier as it is a system restore software so it didnt create any image. Thinking for continuing it.
  3. We've been using Deep Freeze for almost 2 years now and it's worked very well within our environment. We'd tried other products before purchasing Deep Freeze and every product had some or the other issue. Specially the Clean Slate and Drive Vaccine products - it's not recommended at all. We'd valuated it and found it to be completely unstable and buggy. Deep Freeze works fine with the mandatory profiles that we have setup for the teachers and we don't have to worry about the profile data being lost or slow login issues. Plus Faronics gave us a very good pricing for Deep Freeze which included for Servers and Macs as well. Highly recommended. Contact their tech support team if you are having issues - they are always ready to help you out.
  4. Hey I know I'm replying late. I tried it but it does not work as conveniently as Deep Freeze. Plus its time consuming and needs someone to actually do the task where as Deep Freeze is completely automatic. I think investing in Deep Freeze would be more economical than other workarounds or even involving a person to do the manual tasks. Even we were low on budget but their educational pricing is quite economical and the support they offer is completely free of cost. Good product and good technical support.
