  1. Hiya, Whats your current pricing now please for a School of roughly 300 devices? (this is including iPads,Chromebooks,PCs,Laptops etc).
  2. So for example if i have 200 devices and i want NetSupport DNA then this would cost £600 excluding VAT per year? No other charges? Thanks, just looking at options as ABTutor contract runs out in two months and also want something that can take most features of Securus program also.
  3. Yeah i understand where you are coming from however paying £40 Plus a month for dedi hosting is not what i would like to do (it is but the wife )
  4. Yeah the top fibre package BT Offer, i'm getting around 80+ Down with 20+ Up. Will look into Pfsense as well as going to need another system to run it on 24/7.
  5. Yeah was only asking as some people say that the Home routers DMZ function is "Half DMZ" where all it does is open all ports to the specific device and does not prevent it from talking to other devices on the internal network where a "Full DMZ" from a better router would segregate it properly.
  6. OK thanks for your help, will look into this when home and will get this setup.
  7. Ok cheers, looks like most people are saying on a budget level to use two routers with the 1st one connected to WAN and using DMZ with server and another connected to the 1st router with that providing a firewall for other home devices, does this sound like the best way?
  8. ahh ok then i see thanks, any suggestions on achieving this on a budget?
  9. This is pretty much what i am after but just trying to see if the second firewall would be ok to setup on a server VM with one of two of its ports going to my LAN and the other is the incoming WAN from router. Pretty much just trying to put another barrier to protect my internal network should the Server become compromised.
  10. Trying to decide the best way to achieve this, I am after having my router as my main firewall which will be connected to the server and then i want a second firewall to provide security for all of my other devices and so then i have the server and other devices separately protected, this is going to defeat the object if i run PFSense on a VM on the server with a LAN port going to a switch for other devices isn't it?
  11. Yeah it does seem limited, I was looking into something like PFSense is this something that would suffice perhaps on a VM on the server or something? Yes the game servers and voice server will be accessible from the Internet. Cheers.
  12. Hi Guys, I have a HP Enterprise Server which i plan to run multiple game servers on, I am looking for the best way to make this secure to use with my home network where in the best scenario the server has its own firewall and so does my Home-network. The hardware i have use of will be: Server BTHomeHub 5 Gigabit Switch HP MSM442 WAP
  13. Hi do you still have the server?
  14. Not that we can see nope. Nope, tested and permissions block this ability. Unknown on this as we cannot see anything on Smoothwall that indicates a connection but also HP ePrint service is turned off on the printer so should not be possible anyway.
  15. Yet again another print out but no logs on server, room pcs or printer.
  16. Sorry yes totaly forgot that, yes it is shared from a print server. Funnily enough just after i wrote this thread i enabled the queue logging, will have to wait for it to happen again.
  17. Hi All, Got a strange one here, long story short we have some students/pcs in the school that are able to print to a networked (cable) printer that they should not be able to access, details. Printer: HP MFP M476DN Security Settings: Staff/Network Admin groups only Group Policy Printer: set to only about 5 pc's which are staff pc's and inaccessible to students. All web services are turned off on printer like cloud printing etc. There seems to be no logs of these pc's/students even printing to this printer from within our print manager program, it only shows the staff prints. The only way we have tracked down the pc's that were used was due to one of the documents had a students name on it, so we looked through the logs and have narrowed it down to possibly only one room being able to print to it. I logged onto these pc's as the student we think was able to print and it does not show the printer anywhere in "Devices and Printers". I have also set up a Syslog server for that printer to send to but it does not give any info on which user is printing. Any ideas on how to track and figure this out? If you want more info let me know, i have tried to be as in depth as i see is needed. Also looked in Smoothwall as a off chance, did a report on that student. The only thing we found was a https address with the ip of the printer and at the end something like "openapi", cant remember exactly and cant find it again at the moment. We followed the link but it was invalid through web browser. Thanks.
