Yeah the master node is now the fog server itself, how do you encrypt the password? is the user name and password in the storage management area the fog username nad pw you use to log into it? or is it the linux login u&p? thanks for all your help btw

*sigh* its been a long day! ive trmporaily given up on trying to get fog to dump its image on my xp box ( and my spelling by the looks of it), so i reverted back to getting it to save them to itself, but now im getting a Permission denied error.... sigh any ideas? ps sorry for the tripple post but no ones talking to me...

Am struggling with this part windows cannot read these files they appear blank? i open with notepad but they are 0size files?? am i being dumb? *edit* nevermind, it helps to not just yank out your usb stick!!

Im getting a connection refused error, i have pointed fog to our current image server ( lots of disk space..) that box is running xp, i have put that machines ip into the fog settings. i want it to store its images on this machines hard drives. any idea why it wont connect?

My impression of E3 is that Microsoft blew its competition out of the water! Sony and Nintendos announcments were really mediocre and nothing exciting compared to Microsofts. Forza3 is looking amazing

sweet! where do you import it? i have thus far been able to run mem test etc but i have just tried to upload an image and i get en error when it tries to mount the file system then reboots?

Do you have to manually add all the devices by mac address or can you import them from a database? we run spice works here so we have them all in a database already, that possible?

yep all that was done, turns out that WDS was running (but not in use) and it was interfearing with the fog side of things. all sorted now, just getting to grips with it cheers

Ive now got it installed and all up and running, i can log into the web console from my machine and set up sessions etc, however when trying out the test (memtest) the machine im trying it on will not pxe boot into memtest, instead it gets stuck trying to contact one of our dhcp servers???

well ive managed to resolve it.... i plugged in a t-mobile webnwalk usb dongle and did it that way.....

ok managed to get the ip manually set, (PITA!) but im still not able to get yum to authenticate ive tried editing the yum.conf and adding htt, username and password but to no avail, ive also tried adding the username with the domain\ prefix but that didnt work either any ideas?

it was set to dhcp, but i changed it by right clicking on the wired network connection by the clock, choosing edit connections > auto eth0 > edit > ipv4 > then manually setting it, applying then closing the window, however i have just gone to double check and its rest back to dhcp? yep got that set

Tried that and it made no difference can you give me an example of what this config should resemble? thanks for the help so far guys very much appreciated, please bare with me, like i said im new to linux and still finding my way about. cheers

Obviously its ISA thats blocking it, however when i browse to the url via firefox it opens fine as i was asked to authenticate when i opened firefox the first time, however going through the terminal doesnt, is there anyway to resolve this?

/Hi folks Ive been trying to setup and test Fog to see whether it would be a suitable replacement to what we currently use for imaging (ghost) how ever i have thus far been unable to get it to install. I have installed Fedora and have followed the install instructions to the latter but when it comes to installing fog i get the following... this happens every time, php seemingly will not install so fog wont. any ideas oh and im completely new to linux so a bit of a learning curve for me cheers Kev
