  1. In comparison to most of you not a lot, but... Create two new ICT Suites with 20 new pcs and 1 printer in each. Upgrade two existing ICT Suites with new dells (20 in each) Push 10 of the older pcs into our SEN Centre Have the remainder attached to smartboards Have drop down screen and projector in Assembly Hall and Gym Have Digital Signage installed Get 30 Laptops repaired (mainly keyboard replacements) Replace our four year old servers with spanking new ones Add a NAS into the equation Upgrade Firewall to latest ISA Completly revamp our website (looking tired now) And then its the usual sims, bromcom end of year molarky!! I am hoping to get the projector in hall mid Aug so my colleague and I can properly test it out!!!!!!!!! :-)
  2. Funnily enough we have had the same issue with the North West Managers. We put in a big order last friday and before that they were easy to get hold of but since then all we can do is leave voicemail messages and umpteen emails (which have all been read but no response). We had to contact the customers services people to escalate our issues, which finally seems to be resolved. I hope any further communications with Dell are better than what we have had in the last week.
  3. We have finally taken the plunge and gone with Matrix Display (OneLan solution). We actually got a good deal as we are the first in Bolton to use Matrix and we agreed to have their logo at the bottom of the screen. Installation will begin late August (eeek), but already the design gurus are in contact in regards to layout etc. Ill keep you all posted on development. Cheers
  4. Thanks Webman, that gives me something to go on anyway! Cheers
  5. Me too. We are looking into doing a DS setup this summer and would like other examples etc. Someone is coming in to school in a few weeks to demo the one they use (using net-top-box). If anyone has the NTB setup, what sort of costs am I looking at? Ta muchly
  6. I have got together a simple web page with 3 colums....down left a java applet for sport news...and also a picture section...down middle a powerpoint display with messages...and on right and rss feed to bbc etc... what i want now is to get a tv usb and have a live feed onto web, how is this done? or can it not be done?? cheers tony
  7. Yea that would be really cool. Ideally I dont mind staff booking rooms but dont want them booking laptops because they would be mad and have them booked for every lesson or something daft. The other thing I want to implement, not sure if I am on the right forum section here tho, is with this room bookings have an old pc that displays this info along with other stuff like events, staff messages and other stuff. Anyone got any ideas on what I can do, free options always the best ones. Cheers Tony
  8. Hi all, I have now setup the IanMullings RoomBookings ok and its talking to active directory no problem. I am struggling to suss out the access rights so that only a particular group can book and domain admins have admin rights. I get one staff member who can book rooms and another one who can only get read only and as far as i can see they are both identical setup. Other than that its tops and really good. Cheers Tony
  9. Gecko, Ill hang fire on this for a minute cus I think it may now be ok. I moved it onto our other DC and (for 2 hours anyway) it has been working bob on. If it all goes pete tonge 2moz then ill send the code and db. Cheers Gecko for agreeing to spend time having a look anyway, much appreciated. Tony
  10. I am beginning to think there more too this one. I managed to get it working for about 10 mins then boom....DATABASE error...i left it for a bit then all of a sudden it works again.. I have had intermittent trouble with the Self Service Password Reset application as well, is it my 2003 server?? HELP!!!
  11. cheers gecko, ill have a look. I have moved it onto our server 2003 and now receiving could not contact database errors. Cheers Tony
  12. im having a go at Ian Mullings booking system from devizes which looks quite good. I can get it working properly on my pc (where its hosted) but when I try and do it from a remote pc it firstly asks for a login then every step of the way it again goes back to login only to come up with an error when trying book. It looks like a permission thing but I cant see the wood for the trees at the moment. Any Ideas peeps? Cheers TM
  13. cheers webman, look forward to the download. tony
  14. webman, where can i get hold of the files to implement the room booking system on our server. Cheers Tony
  15. I have had look but not found a cure yet. It is soo frustrating cus it works for 5 mins then we get an error (which changes from time to time). The message that appears now is Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x1424 Thread 0x13dc DBC 0x15cb054 Jet'. /register/register.asp, line 120 Cheers Tony
