  1. I will just use it with the trial licence and check if I could get Win7 activated or just buy a key.
  2. No, even with legacy boot enabled I could not boot from CD/DVD.Nothing would show up in the UEFI boot order even if I modified the boot order. Sorry for not mentioning the OS X17-59465. I did try to use the 3rd party start menu's.But I still was not comfortable with it.
  3. I tried burning to disc it wouldn't boot from disc.Yes I is a digital river download.
  4. I tried one called Rufus, its lets you prepare the Usb using GPT partition. If you look at my first post. You will see that I could see the drive in UEFI boot order and I could boot only to find those errors. If I don't use GPT and instead use the 32bit bootsect.exe and Microsoft USB tool, the USB flashdrive would not even show in the UEFI order and even if I enabled Legacy it would not boot from it. Hence I tried Rufus and now the error that I get is the BCD missing error.
  5. I am trying to install Win 7 from a usb drive. I have tried using the Microsoft tool and it did not help.
  6. I could really use some help on my thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-8/113793-win-7-win-8-laptop.html#post973793 Please help, thanks.
  7. I have an HP G7 2220 us laptop.I cannot figure out how to use Windows 8, I want to downgrade to Win7. I have disabled secure boot and in legacy have the usb drive as boot nuber one boot drive. I had formatted the disc using Rufus to make a GPT usb boot drive and used a digitalrive Win7+SP1(Media Refresh)iso file. In the UEFI boot at startup(Esc then F9) I can see the USB drive and when I select it and click Enter this is what comes up: Windows failed to start recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix problem : 1)Insert windows installation disk and restart pc 2)choose langue settings and click next 3)click repair your pc How do I go by the installation of Win7. Please help. Thanks
