  1. Luckily we have a system in place that does live streaming and signage. If your place already has a system in place you can jump on the back of it may save you some time. Ours uses Flash Media Server so I was able to quickly set up a live stream of a science experiment with Flash Media Live encoder for a staff member, i'm sure it wouldnt have been too much problem to get it onto the signage screen.
  2. I cannot say for sure but you may not be able to because the media being recorded wasn't broadcast over the local transmitter. Hopefully the BBC could clarify this.
  3. Would the YouView box be usable in a college for license reasons? I always lean towards keeping a video based solution on site for 2 reasons, bandwidth usage and security. On site systems like ours integrate with AD and allow us to be confident that sensitive content can only be seen by those who should.
  4. Developer tools may help. Look at the CSS and where it comes from for the Select element, it may give you a clue as to what style is causing the issue. Great thing about the developer tools on Chrome and IE is you can change the styles on the fly, so a process of elimination can be used. Elementary, Dear Watson..
  5. Our college recently got 3 screens in and I believe they are by a company called Sahara. Not massively expensive for proper commerical PDPs.
