I was tempted to do this and then I remembered how slow SIMS can be when copying columns and saw how slow checking one marksheet was as well and then thought it would be wise not to be lazy and try and check everything at once Thanks for that suggestion. I knew that you can do "view history" in the marksheets to view historic data but didn't think to use it to check who and what date the grade was filled in. Thanks for that as it would definatley come in handy. From all the comments on here it sounds like I am going to use a global marksheet for Year 7 and 8 then check each subject marksheet for years 9 - 11. Another question for you guys do you use Comments Bank or Marksheets to do written comments?

You are right but I just recently set up Assessment Manager up for the school so at this minute I may have to be a bit more 'proactive' up until xmas latest. Plus the school has a few staffing issues as well

Hi All I just want to find out how you check to see if marksheets are complete for the whole school in SIMS. I know you can do a missing results reports but its really slow just doing it for one marksheet and do not like the way it tells you what results are missing. My initial plan was to create a marksheet with all the subjects for each year group then I realised years 9 and above might not do a specific course/subject. So this got me thinking how do you check marksheets. I'm thinking there must be a better way or maybe I don't know how to use SIMS properly.

I don't think I made much sense in my previous post. What I meant was that I am currently creating marksheets for the DIDA course. I have so far created a column where teachers can fill in a current and predicted grade for the AIDA, CIDA, CIDA+ and the DIDA. Since the DIDA course is worth 4 GCSE's should I create a gradeset where a Pass is worth 160 points (4x 40 points) or even if the course is worth 4 GCSE'S should I use a gradeset where a Pass is worth 40 points

I'm currently setting up assessment manager 7 in SIMS from scratch. I wanted to ask how do you allocate points for the BTEC and DIDA columns. Should I have it for example the full DIDA a Pass being 160 points as its equivalent to 4 GCSE's or do it that it is 40 points and times the column by 4 when I am doing the analysis marksheets. Also in my current school BTEC exam results are not downloaded into SIMS by the exam officer. Is there a way you can download it in exam organiser as this summer I would like to do the exam results analysis in SIMS

No I didn't find out the problem Capita spoke to IT manager and not me to sort it out plus I was too busy to remember to ask

I have gone through all of that and it still not working. The most strange thing is that the IT Manger is able to reset passwords on the same machine that I am using and the SIMS Adminstrator was also able to do it as well. The IT Manger and I have checked the permissions we both got and I have System Manger permissions so it should work

Hi I don't know if someone can help but I seem to have a problem creating new passwords for new members of staff. I created a new user in system manager and it generated a password but when they log in they get an invalid username and password error. I tried to reset people's passwords as well and when I log in with the new password I get the invalid username or/and password error message. Also I notice that sometimes SIMs when adding a new user would crop an error message saying I do not have permission to create a new user and cannot save the user. But then afterwards I notice the user gets added despite the error message. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to resolve the problem? Thanks

Funny enough the person had class teacher access but it only worked when I asked IT to give the teaching assistant permission. I also don't have access to sims manager so I can't set usernames and passwords

Thanks for your help. I managed to find out what the problem is. IT hasn't given the teachers Teacher Assistant permissions

Dear All I am a data manager and is currently setting up Marksheets for our school as we do not currently use SIMS to do assesment. However for some reason none of the teachers are able to view any of the marksheets they are assigned to despite having the correct permissions to view and add data to the marksheets. Is there anyone who can help with this Thanks
