  1. Registered :-) See you all there!
  2. Definitely want to attend, was an excellent day last year. LeFrog is no more, but it has re-opened as something almost as good, and the meals at the Black Bull next door are decent and if you get the right time, two for one as well! I like food.

    A wheel came off

I'm guessing I know who this is If you're still struggling, give me a bell via the service desk and I'll see if we can't help out a little atb Lee
  4. Well, you've got me convinced. I'm off to Reg Vardy to open a cheque account!
  5. Point really was that you'll get a better deal buying money direct - the garage is a middleman and I'm certain will be taking a profit/commission on the finance. You don't go to a bank to buy a car.
  6. Another vote for not buying new from me. A learned friend of mine once said "if garages were any good at lending money, they'd be banks". Go to a financial institution if you want to buy money. Have a think about what you actually want to buy and what else you could do with the money - do you really need a silver dash, automatic lights etc and will these add any value when you come to sell it? £500 on aircon is a holiday somewhere.... You'll always lose money on cars though. I've always driven French but currently also have a Mazda. The difference in my confidence that the Japanese car will start every time and not fall apart compared to the Citroen is huge. Actually we also have a Kia Cee'd and that is also miles ahead of the Frenchie in quality feel.
  7. I don't see how you can go wrong in NZ, been a few places and it's the only one I think I could see myself living in. It's a great place full of great people and sheep. (!) I understand SIMS is very big in NZ, could be a handy thing to have on your CV. Ah, for a bottle of Monteith's summer ale... :-)
  8. It's the speed of Vista that makes it frustrating for me - I've got a decent Dell Vostro at home (scores of 5.9 all the way on Vista performance index - quad core, 4Gb, etc) but it still doesn't feel responsive. It's not that it's slow, but compared to OS X or XP it's sluggish. It's actually better under boot camp on my Macbook Pro, but that's using Vista Business not Home Premium so maybe that helps. In truth, I'd find it hard to justify Vista to our schools am glad Becta have taken the stance they have with it, I just don't see Vista as an upgrade.
  9. Found this on the world wide interweb http://ahsintranet.co.uk/category/vle-strategy/ Seems to have a working log on for the trial site.
