Create a marksheet template in SIMS with the relevant aspects and student information columns on it - in same order as your csv if possible, if not (as the student info ones are always at top) then juggle your csv columns around to match marksheet - just makes it easier for copy/paste later. As tombry says, pick the correct result set for the aspects if you're using one else it's coffee and dark room time sorting out the mess lol.
1. Attach year group to marksheet.
2. Open said marksheet and export 'formatted'.
3. Open the xml exported file in excel, it'll be protected so in excel from the 'Review' ribbon section select 'unprotect sheet' then unhide column A to get access to the UPN data.
4. Delete ALL the student data that's present from column A to last column and row.
5. Paste contents of csv in to the now empty cell making sure your columns match up - double & triple check this bit!!!!
6. Put a date in across all the white cells in row 1 above the aspect names.
7. Hide column A again (no need to protect sheet) - it won't let you import if you don't.
8. Save file then follow same routine you did with csv for importing. No need to match up columns or anything although you may have to match up students if you haven't used their UPN's, jobs a goodun
Sounds long winded but after you've set up some 'import' templates for regular imports it takes a couple of mins each time thereafter and is a lot easier than going through matching up columns etc.....
For info, if you unhide the top 4 rows after you've unprotected the xml file you'll find the id tags of the aspects and result set - that's how SIMS knows where to stick the data.
