I have managed to install Windows 7 on this laptop but cannot find a chipset driver for Mobile Intel® HM76 Express Chipset for Windows 7. What chipset driver did you find to use? There only seems to be one for Windows 8 not sure if I should install that one?

Thanks Ill try windows 7 install when I get the disk and will try your tip to find my Windows 8 product key. I have 5 backup disks that were created by the previous owner for this laptop I am pretty sure that is all I need to reinstall Windows 8 and dont need the original Windows 8 disk. Im still a little unsure of creating dual boots so some help there would be useful - have 1TB of hard drive so not best sure how to partition probably 750 W7 and 250 W8 as I will be using the w7 to process and store video clips on and W8 just for web browsing and basics.

Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 Then go to software > operating systems > windows 7 home premium Its about £60 Does this sound fair? A bit strange to install a dell disk on an HP though. I need to have Windows 7 on here as my video streaming setup doesnt like WIndows 8 yet. Lots of blue screens and freezes ina brand new laptop when running the hardware.

So conclusion is go for the £50 disk for this laptop?

Hmm sounds strange that I can get something legitimately from Microsoft for free (as it said somewhere you need WIndows 8 Pro to downgrade legitimately) but worth giving it a go! Thanks

Thanks for the tip on getting Windows 7 ISO and Windows 8 product key. Only problem is that when I have the Windows 7 ISO I still need to get an active product key I would have thought. I guess htis is what you pay your £50 for? Well Im willing to give the dual boot on Windows 7 and 8 a go so not completely writing it off yet. My initial thoughts are that design and useability are horrible though! If Dimensions has time to document his successful dual boot installation step by step that would be very useful for me and others I think!

Hi folks this is very timely as I would like to roll back to windows 7 so that I can see if it is WIndows 8 causing compatability issues with video streaming hardware I have. I would like to keep the option to go back to windows 8 though. Where is best place to get hold of windows 7 disk and key? I saw one on ebay for a dell OEM but it says it will work in any laptop for about £50? ANyway I think your idea of dual booting is a good one and would like to try it as long as it doesn't impact on performance? I don't suppose you could give a step by step guide to setting up the dual boot from scratch that would be really useful?! Also not sure where to get my windows 8 key from as its not on bottom of laptop as it used to be?! I have 5 backup disks that the previous owener setup so not sure I need the recovery partition? I really don't like WIndows 8 cant see it taking off to be honest it is a few steps backwards in terms of useability! Thanks Chris
