  1. Support used to be fantastic and it's gone downhill. I can no longer get reports from my unit and the reporting has been sporadic since it was installed some years ago. The performance of the unit has faltered. Initially we were told "well, you need a new one because you've outgrown this one" (after 2.5years of it being in place - they specced it!), until I finally managed to persuade a support technician to look at the database - he did some work on it and performance returned to normal. The functionality to port data to an external RDBMS has never worked. If you gave me some more time, I could probably carry on but I'm afraid BLOXX, where as they used to be quite forward thinking and helpful have gone backwards as a company. We looked at Smoothwall and we wished we had used that.
  2. Interesting as we are going to be looking at new filtering soon and a larger wireless deployment. We have 802.1x at the moment in the form of Eduroam and many of my counterparts in our sector are struggling with the filtering issue. We have many thousands of students and the provision of wireless seamlessly is a big thing for us. Eduroam complicates the matter as we don't want to break the roaming experience for users by placing proxy settings on the device.
  3. We've used Bloxx for 8 years. It'll be coming to an end shortly and we will absolutely not be using them again. My discussions with others throughout the sector shows we aren't alone in our frustrations either.
  4. As a rule, unless you are doing something quick and dirty you should not use "direct rule". Always use query based rules. The resource ID of a machine can change - for example, by re-imaging the machine from PXE boot. If you re-image via OSD through the OS then it'll maintain the resource ID. There are other circumstances in which the resource ID may change and in this instance a directly added resource will be lost from the collection. A better approach is to use a query based rule. So, let's say for example you want to add machines with name "1" and "2" to a collection, create a query based upon the machine name and use this to form the collection. On that basis, even if the resource ID of the machine should change, the device (although actually a different resource) will maintain its place within that collection. What I suspect has happened in your instance is that the resource ID has changed when the client installed on the machines. In SCCM 2007 this would have resulted in duplicate resources being shown (you may have seen multiple computer resources for one device), but in 2012 I think the behaviour is different and the duplicate is automatically removed. Does that help? :-/
  5. YAY. I wish there was something I could do to push the upgrade forward. Just have to wait for the e-mail now.
  6. We explicitly do not allow this without the students permission or SMT override.
  7. This is fantastic news. I have many thousands of accounts ready to provision! I hope we don't have to wait too long for our existing deployment to be upgraded.
  8. Is anyone clear as to whether SkyDrive Pro will be part of the free Office 365 Education offerings? I can't seem to find any clarification on this.
  9. Not direct here. Bought through a supplier - delivered and placed (ground floor). Good service. I won't name the supplier in this post - not sure what the rules are around here, but I'll happily let you know if you send me a PM.
  10. Phoenix here too. 4621. Plenty of room inside but don't be fooled by the external size. The internal space available is much less due to th fireproofing.
