  1. I bought 12 x Lenovo Thinkcentre Edge 91z 7075 this summer. 7 are on the Admin network and 5 on the Curric. They run W7 enterprise and are not touchscreen. They come with wireless keyboard and mouse. All the users in the school love them. 3 sets of the k/b's didn't work out of the box but that was because the supposed 'new' batteries supplied were flat. Once they batteries were replaced they were fine. I have had no problems with them and would definitely recommend.
  2. We use iPads at my school for Teachers and Students. I can tell you from first hand experience that if you use a proxy server then using the Apple 'Push' function won't work, as there is no option in OSX Server to bypass local addresses as in Windows when entering a proxy server address. So if you change any policies or 'payload' as Apple call it you will have major problems Pushing those changes to the iDevices. Before we moved off our proxy server I used to have to recall all the iDevices, turn the proxy off and then the payload would be pushed from the Mac Mini Server - a right royal PITA if there are 64 devices and only 1 of you!!! You can control/lockdown certain aspects of an iDevice with Profile Manager but if you wanted something more substantial you will be looking at a more robust MDM solution. As someone else mentioned above there is no Securus type app you can put on the iDevices so if kids want to Google Image Search 'naughty things' they can and will get away with it unless a teachers sees. The pros and cons list is long - more cons that pros in my opnion. Hope this helps. Sej
  3. Hey Sujal, I think it will be hard for you to find work in a school on weekends. I think you will have a better chance during the school holidays - most if not all High Schools/Secondary Schools are open, during the school holidays, and this is the time when they carry out a lot of their upgrade/imaging etc.... so good experience to be had there. Talk to your local schools and see if you can get some work experience for this Xmas holiday coming up. Then you will have to take time off your Mon-Fri job and go for the IT experience. By the way you say you are hoping to complete your exams by July this year???? So you have completed your exams???? Best of luck Sej
