  2. Internet Explorer Maintenance is not supported by IE10 see: Internet Explorer Maintenance Replacements Microsoft advises that you use GPP instead or the IEAK. I am not sure how you are setting up your GPOs but I have found it advisable to always do it through the Server tools on the new OS. Update: Despite the webpage saying to use the IEAK to setup IE10 I have just seen a note on the page saying that the IEAK is not available for IE10... classic.
  3. I am the Network Manager for a Primary school I work Full time 46 Weeks per year on the one site. We have 280 Pupils, 140 Clients, 4 Servers and Projectors and IWBs in all classrooms. My role is to look after all of the purchasing and technical support plus advising senior management on development and future planning.
  4. I am a Network Manager at a Private Prep School (280 pupils) I work full time and the pay is pretty decent to be honest. It is a great job and I couldn't be happier
  5. I got this too and was pretty impressed. I liked the idea of putting Tips on the bottom of each page. If you want to register for the magazine it seems like you can just email [email protected] with your name, postion, email address, school name and address.
  6. Here is the combined code to cover using an IP address or a named server. function ping($host){ $hostconnect = "Ping request could not find host ". $host . ". Please check the name and try again." ; $ipconnect = " Packets: Sent = 1, Received = 0, Lost = 1 (100% loss)," ; $rv = exec("ping $host -n 1 -w 1"); if( $ipconnect == $rv ) { return false; } else { if( $hostconnect == $rv ) { return false; } else { return true; } } } Just replace the whole of the ping function in the original code.
  7. If you want to use this on IIS/Windows and use IP addresses rather than named hosts you can use these lines in the ping function. $connect = " Packets: Sent = 1, Received = 0, Lost = 1 (100% loss)," ; $rv = exec("ping $host -n 1 -w 1"); if( $connect == $rv ) You could combine this with the previous guys post to cover named servers and IP addresses.
  8. Has anyone had any joy getting this working on a Windows IIS server? I just seem to get all my server listed as down.
  9. Do you use Ghost at all? We had this problem before and it related to a file called GHMon.sys Check out this link: GHMon.sys Hope it helps.
