In order to support a large number of Macintosh clients, I need to change the Primary Group of most of my Active Directory users from Domain Users to one of three different user groups. This is easily done on a per user basis, but I am looking to make changes to thousands of users at a time. Does anyone have any experience with this and/or able to recommend a 3rd party app to get it done? Running Win2k3 Server Thanks in advance for any insight.

I am about to do a deployment with about two thousand MacBooks in a public school. We have a wireless VLAN for each grade and an associated SSID for each VLAN. We are using AD for authentication and OD for schema augmentation (MCX). (Magic Triangle) I am trying to come up with a way (post-imaging/pre-deployment) to have each laptop connect to a specific SSID based on the "Description" field in their AD account. ie. If a student is graduating in 2010, the description field in AD is "2010" and they should connect to "HS_12" SSID. If a student is graduating in 2011, the description field in AD is "2011" and they should connect to "HS_11" SSID...etc. Any ideas?

I work in a school district that has a one-to-one laptop initiative. Once each machine is imaged and configured, it is "frozen" using Faronics DeepFreeze. Each student has a ThawSpace (5Gigs) in which to store their work. Occasionally, we have a hard drive stop working properly and need to recover the student's ThawSpace. Previously, the drive was connected to a technician's desktop and the ThawSpace file was saved, then transferred to a working image. In the new version of DeepFreeze, the ThawSpace file in not interchangable between installations. My question is, has anyone developed a "ThawSpace Explorer" that can read / copy the contents of a ThawSpace file?
