Hi Everyone Thanks for the reply posts to my problem. Using the info from here and another forum, I think I've narrowed the problem down more or less to SP2 in Exchange and it's built in spam filters. I think what has happened is that the SMTP server is now "aware" of Yahoo's 1 only incoming mail policy, and therefore rejects our staff members who are trying to send to multiple Yahoo addresses at once. I can't recall the problem ever happening with Exchange 2000 or even the plain 2003. Due to the nature of adsl down here in South Africa, we are running our system on a dynamic IP adsl connection, and relay our mail through one of the big smtp servers down here that belongs to the national phone company, Telkom. Since this appears to be because of Yahoo related policy, I will inform staff that they must send messages to Yahoo recipients one at a time. It's a pain in the backside, but they will just have to live with it. As I might have mentioned in the original post, it's only happened twice, and very rarely will they need to mass mail Yahoo based people. Thanks for all the help guys Craig 8)

Hi guys If this post isn't in the relevant place, please feel free to move it. We have Exchange 2003 SP2 sitting ontop of Windows 2003 SP2. All WinXP SP2 machines in the network. It works absolutely perfectly, bar one problem I can't figure out. Two staff members have now tried to send mail to Yahoo accounts and have had an error message email come back from the server itself. I've tried searching everything I know, but cannot find an answer. The message in the email looks like this: "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: xxxxxxxx Sent: 2007/11/05 13:20 The following recipient(s) could not be reached: xxxxxxx on 2007/11/05 13:23 You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator. " Does anyone know what the error is and how to fix it? One staff member encountered this when using Outlook XP, and one with Outlook Web Access. The people with the Yahoo accounts are all together in the "To" field. Not CC or BCC. The above error message will appear in the error email for every recipient the person tried to mail, even if their mail address was not with Yahoo. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Hi everybody My name is Craig, I work at the British based International School of Cape Town In Cape Town South Africa. We will have about 300 pupils total by the start of next year, this goes from pre reception to Upper Form 6. All in one building that was originally a house 8O I'm in charge of the entire computer network, man alone as it is. We are slowly creeping towards 100 computers, a lot of it ancient stuff. We are completely private, and while CfBT does help, our budget is all local. So I'm working on a weird mix of new, old, and all inbetween. Being man alone, I'm also responsible for the PABX phone system, photocopiers, fax machines, software, basically the whole package except the school website. I'm paid far under what I should be for supporting all of these things. Management said they will take under consideration the extra duties I've taken on, and will hopefully jack my salary up over R5000 a month. (About 800 pounds or so? I don't have currency conversion tables open in front of me right now ) Most of the staff are friendly enough, but they are terribly IT illiterate. I try my best to train but I don't have enough time to go into depth. Some of their questions are terribly basic, which is ok. I don't mind teaching and helping them learn. What I can't take are those who are too stuck up or too lazy to try and learn on their own and try to fix it before calling me. I'm the longest lasting IT admin they've had, coming up to 3 years next July. I'm seriously starting to think of moving on though, I've started additional studies so I can get into the corporate world or somewhere better paid and with benefits. I got into working in a school because of my time in high school, but this place has now become a stress burden on me that isn't worth it. (Btw, am I too old to grump at 21? :scratch: ) Cheers all, Craig 8)
