Hello, I recently upgraded our server to Windows Server 2008 R2. I would like to create a NEW blank database for SIMS. I ran SIMSINST v1.21.3.0 and when it was just installing MSDE 2000 it said that it was incompatible with the operating system and that it needed to be run on Windows NT 4.0, Xp or 98. Is there a different version of Microsoft SQL that is freely available and compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 and SIMSINST v1.21.3.0. If so, how would I create a database for SIMSINST or will it do it for me? And (sorry, I have a lot of requests) what is the default login for SIMS once everything is installed?

Hello, I have run SIMSINST.exe to install SIMS and I am on the Installing SIMS DB Install part and at the bottom of dbattach.exe it says Copying Database File Into The SQL Data Directory. It has been on this step for almost an hour. Both SIMSINST.exe and dbattach.exe are still responding, so they can't have crashed. Maybe it just takes a long time? Thanks In Advance For Your Help.

Is SIMS compatible with SQL server 2012??

I'd like to set up a test server for SIMS. Is there anyway to this manually?? Do I need another software to create a database or can I just do it with sql server? and how would I go about adding users? I'm kinda in a pickle right now and i don't have SIMSinst.exe to help me.

Is there anyway to create a new sims database on sql server? do i just call it "SIMS" and then create a connect.ini file and then how would i go about adding users? I am stuck. Any help out there?

What do you mean through normal channels? We're having to rely on STEARsoft for now, does anyone know and could tell (or email) me the password. Thanks in advance

Hello, I can't seem to access SupportNet at the moment and I have been emailed the simsspring2011upg.iso file by one of my colleagues (it's the latest version our system can cope with). I asked him what the password was but he said he didn't realise it was encrypted. Does anyone know the password and is able to email it to me or maybe even email the release notes with the password contained. Thanks in Advance.

Sorry to go off subject, but does anyone know the password to the spring 2011 sims upgrade iso? or could someone email me the release notes. It's just that I have found out that I can't access SupportNet for KB108477. Thanks in advance for your help.
