About Brewer

  1. Here we seem to dress smarted than the teachers, well the majority of them. we're in shirt and tie etc during term time then we get to wear skags during the holidays. i dont mind, but i always trap my tie in pc's and all sorts of things like that, it can get slightly frustrating. Tried to get my boos to buy aload of snickers stuff but he wouldn't, after he found out pricing. ha.
  2. We have, at the moment, arount 1500 students, approximately 350 xp(cc3) workstations, 150+ laptops, and all the other bits and bobs we like to buy. in our team we have the Gaffer (NM), 1 x head technician, 3 x f/t techies, 1 x p/t techie, and a helpdesk person. our music and media dapartments have a technician each to look after their pc's and equipment.
  3. misco do a few things like that, as do solwise, both fairly inexpensive. excellent little devices we have a few to run our display tv's around the site.
  4. "i cant install my home broadband on my school laptop" Buy a router. We currently only support staff home broadband installs if they buy a decent router, usually just a netgear or D-link, as no install required and we make sure they have security setup. we've decided to deep freeze our new staff laptops and have them all setup to a pre-defined standard, with access to everything staff need for theirday to day lives. Occasionally we may have to add some software to it, and re-freeze the laptop but it seems to be working better than giving them local admin access, no more limewire on our school lappies.
