I use a System wide GP to force all PC's through a proxy and the GP Locks users (Inc Admin) out of Internet Control Panel! We have one 2012 server in which needs a direct connection out; but because of the blanket policy GP locks me out.. With Windows 2008 I used a little prog called - Advanced Proxy Manager; To allow me to switch between.. But it wont work with 2012.. Any Reg hacks? Or other solutions? Thanks Simon W

Hi, We have 4 Std Widows 2008 'Vanilla' Servers. 1 of which is our current Sims Server.. Every time they need replacing it cost us (£11000) (Every 5/6 Years) One of our Admins is bleating about visualisation... Can I have some Pros and Cons pls including prices. Thanks S

Hi, School Environment. I currently have 4 * Windows 2008 R1 Servers. I am looking at replacing but go from 4 to 3 Servers and to migrate ALL servers to Server 2012. (One of the servers is for Sims. BUT Shortly I need to upgrade the SQL to 2012..) I was hoping to migrage ALL servers to Server 2012 etc. But works out quite pricey. What are your thoughts. ??? Or Do I stick with 2* 2008 servers and 1*2012 Server?

Currently we use our in house servers to store Pupil, staff data and a central 'departmental' folder? But would like to cut down on new server costs. What do other IT Guru's use for cloud storage? A lot of staff here use 'personal' Dropbox's but I guess that can work out expensive for a corp version. Thanks Si

Windows Xp & 7 I would like to restrict access to network drives by Windows Search. When i make a search and select 'Computer', the mapped drives are also taken into account, which i do not want. Note that i know the content is not being indexed, and i double checked that this is not allowed. however, i don't want that a local search ends up looking on the network for files. Is there a way to avoid this ? On a similar topic, does one know the registry path for the setting "Don't use the index when searching in file folders for system files" ? This setting makes searching for system files work (nothing else seems to do the trick) and i would like to set it as default. thanks in advance

Postcode Up to 8 characters (pupil's postcode) PreviousSchoolNo 7 digit integer (DCSF/DENI no.) * PreviousSchoolName Where available this will be the name of the pupil's previous school * If you are registering as part of an Education Authority, you must provide this SCN and Previous School Number information if you wish to receive Pips P7 or InCas P7 to AfE SOSCA S2 Value added reports (as applicable). For Yellis (Year 10 and 11) cohorts only Option1 to Option20 For each pupil, list each GCSE subject option title in a separate column named Option1 through to a maximum of Option20. These can be represented in two different ways: a) each Option column contains a single subject choice for a pupil.
