  1. Thank you all for your help. That is the sort of program I was after @andy_b thanks. I have been testing the below program I found earlier, all working perfectly: http://www.cjwdev.co.uk/Software/AccountReset/Info.html I was after something idiot proof and both these programs pass Many thanks!
  2. Thank you for the replies. I have now created a security group and delegated permissions to the selected OUs. It works very well, however I dislike that fact that a user with these permissions is able to see all OU containers/users. I am wondering if someone remembers a simple password reset program that can be installed instead of the ADUC snap in. Thank you
  3. We would like to give permission to certain users to reset passwords. Example: "Mr IT" can reset passwords in selected OUs. I recall a very helpful program that achieved this, but can't remember the name. Please can anyone either share the way they achieve this, or recommend a method? Thank you very much in advance
  4. Sorry for being vague - yes this is a Physical server
  5. I am hoping for some advice please. We currently have a Windows Server 2008R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1. My plan is to upgrade SQL to SP3 for the time being, but a bigger project is upgrading SQL Server altogether. With the current Server OS, the most up to date SQL edition available to upgrade to would be SQL Server 2014. Is it wroth bypassing 2012 OR look to upgrading the server OS to 2012/2016 - then using the latest SQL 2016 edition? My current thought is remain with 2008R2 and upgrade our SQL server to 2014. I appreciate any advice/thoughts in advance. Martin
  6. Another vote for Sony Xperia Z3. Brilliant straight out of the box - no need to root. I personally stay clear of iPhone's, features are outdated and very limited to customise when compared to Android.
  7. This is very interesting as we are experiencing the same issue with FaceTime as calls are never "connected". The ports outlined in the above link have been opened and as a result, iMessage is now working. We have a LightSpeed filtering system, so I am wondering if FaceTime is being filtered by the standard policy. Could anyone please indicate what urls should be whitelisted? Appreciate the help!
  8. Anyone find out information on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  9. Afternoon, I am re-looking the idea of implementing a staff bulletin system on our network. I posted a similar thread back along (http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/93934-staff-briefing-messages.html), however I would like to look into alternative methods. The basic requirements are: Staff log in, a "pop up" appears containing a bulletin notice board. This will also have the ability for staff to add further notices. I know this sounds a long shot, but has anyone come across software or systems that is capable of this? Or does anyone have a pop up notice board system in place? I have looked at ideas mentioned previously (http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/93934-staff-briefing-messages.html) but the school want a automated system so the pop up appears on each log in. Really appreciate any help. Martin
  10. I can see it peeing people off as well! That's SLT for you! Yeah, I was thinking an internet based facility. But it has been requested for pop ups to ensure the briefing has been seen and not ignored
  11. First of all, this community has been excellent for problem solving issues surrounding my job. This is my first post on these threads regarding a problem so I will appreciate any support. We have had a request in our school to display a pop up message once a user has logged into the system. This would contain a staff briefing that could be modified by staff but not by students. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. I really do not know where to start with this one. Thank You, Martin
