yeah. I already have hap+ setup which allows staff to open documents but there is no option to save back.
-
thank you. Ive sent them an email so hopefully will get a trial going soon. Is that a yearly or monthly cost?
-
If it works well then I'd be interested in trialling it. Do you know what it costs once the trial is up?
-
did you ever find out about this company?
-
thanks for that. can you point me in the direction of your posts about it I cant seem to find them.
-
Is this possible? I can open files fine and then edit them in Smart Office or whatever App I like but is there a way of saving my changes back to the school server?
-
I reinstalled and put in all my settings again. This time I made sure I added All permissions to the mapped drives and it works perfectly now. Thanks Nick

I tried that but it wont save. I cant make any changes to that mapped drive now it puts an error up saying The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter HAP.Web.API:drive. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type System.String. The token ':' was expected but found ','.'. Please see InnerException for more details. when I try to delete it and The given key was not present in the dictionary. when I try to edit

Ok did a fresh install and it seems to be all sorted. However when I click my files now there are no drives showing? Ive added %homedir% on the setup page.

I was running an much older version without any problems. I wasnt sure how to upgrade so I downloaded the full package and pasted its contents into my hap folder. The login screen comes up fine and staff can login but when they click the my files button I get an error Server Error in '/hap' Application. Parser Error Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'HAP.Web.mycomputer'. Source Error: Line 1: <%@ Page Title="Crickhowell High School - IT - Extranet - My Computer" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/masterpage.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="mycomputer.aspx.cs" Inherits="HAP.Web.mycomputer" %> Line 2: <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="asp" %> Line 3: <%@ Register Src="~/Controls/NewFolder.ascx" TagName="NewFolder" TagPrefix="hap" %> Source File: /hap/mycomputer.aspx Line: 1 Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1 I cant understand why its looking for mycomputer as that isnt a file in hap8. the setup page loads fine and everything looks ok in there.

this worked for me too. thank you
-
Yeah sorry I keep pressing everyone is using rm.
-
My active directory connection page is like that as well but obviously its working otherwise no one would be able to log and view their docs not just domain admins.

I was getting this error for users who had easylink disabled in the management console. Make sure that your domain admin group doesnt automatically disable easylink access because that will stop you accessing the site. As soon as I ticked the enable easylink box users could log on no problems. edit: hmmm Im actually still getting this for my systemadmin account. Only seems to affect the homepage, if you browse straight to the setup or myfiles extensions they load but the homepage generates this error. Thought it was the easylink thing but ive turned it back on now and its still happening. The only other thing I did was try to submit a test ticket on the helpdesk tab, other than that ive changed nothing since it was working. created a new user and added them to the domain admin group with easylink enabled. same error. everyone else fine. weird as it was working this morning fine. I edited the web.config file to deny anyone but domain admins access to the setup page as directed. could this be involved?

hi, I installed it onto a different server and have had a bit more luck this time. seems to be working well but still get a empty box when i click my school files. Do I need to change the target option in the setup and if so what to? working on cc3 edit: ive put the target as %homedir% but still nothing. edit2: I added a mapped drive under the my files tab and now it shows the drive. So its an extra click but it appears to be working! Very nice. now ive just gotta get some ports forwarded so it works over the internet (hopefully)! :-D

Ive deleted everything off the server. going to try again tomorrow with the latest version and see what happens. very frustrated right now but appreciate all the help and advice. you are a top guy for developing and supporting this software Nick.

like I said earlier it was sort of working. i could log in and see the home page and the buttons but there was no documents showing when I clicked view my files.
-
yeah nick I filled those in. the second picture is where I had trouble. It wont accept my details. the rest of the details are in.
-
couldnt get it to work so tried version 4 so I could follow the video step by step. sort of worked for a minute but then nothing. not getting any response when I browse to the site now and the RM Management console has stopped working, returns an IIS error. Gonna restart the server shortly to see if it goes back to normal. Bit worried ive buggered something up but I havent messed with any settings away from the hap stuff :/
-

-

-

Hi Nick I started again and followed the instructions to the letter. When I browse to the setup page on the server I get all red crosses but If I do it on another computer I get all green ticks. Still getting a red cross on the basic settings for active directory. sometimes when I click save I get the error There is something wrong connecting to your AD Infrastructure, please review the AD settings and try again. The most common cause of this is using a user not in the Domain Admins or Administrators Group I am attempting to enter the username and password of a domain admin.
-
are there some instructions ive missed? How do I setup a hapconfig.xml file?
