  1. Hi, I'm trying to backup a Server 2012 installation to a Buffalo TeraStation using Windows Server Backup and it fails each time with... 'the version does not support this version of the file format' I used the same routine on Server 2008 R2 and it worked a dream. Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!
  2. How do you just specify certain types of driver files?
  3. I'm pretty sure I checked that yesterday but will try again next time in the school. Thanks for the reply!
  4. I have updated the Out-Of-Box drivers in MDT yes. Then refreshed the boot images to import into WDS.
  5. Hi, I have MDT 2010 installed on a server 2008 alongside WDS. I used to be able to boot to x86 Lite Touch on a client and then select the Install OS task sequence. However now when I boot into the x86 Lite Touch image all I get is the 'Vista like' progress bar on a black screen and does not boot into the logon screen, etc. I can boot into the x64 Lite Touch image but there are no task sequences set up x64 OS's. I am using a client which I have been able to deploy XP and 7 Pro x86 to before using MDT on the same server. But now all of a sudden it won't? When I boot into x86 it just hangs at the 'Vista' progress bar. I have checked that the DeploymentShare$ folder has the appropriate permissions and even deleted it and created a new one from scratch in MDT workbench. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!!
  6. If I use the script mentioned here but I hide/restrict C drive within GPO for users, does the user still get access to the local shortcut folder created on the C drive?
  7. Hi, I too am having problems connecting netbooks to the DWL-3500ap's. There are upto 30 netbooks in a class. Some classes have 3 WAPs providing plenty of coverage but they still get limited connectivity. I recently updated the firmware on all of the WAPs to the latest version 3, as recommended by my supplier and D-Link, but the problem persists and seems to have gotten worse! I haven't updated the firmware on the managed switches though. Did as you say disabling the Spanning Tree Protocol fix the issue permanently or do you still have trouble? Did you disable it on all managed wireless switches? Thanks, Nick
  8. Tested MDT following guide from mightmrp. Works a treat! Thanks again!
  9. Wow, great responses! Seems MDT is the way to go. Thanks all for replies and themightymrp for destructions. Newbie to this forum but will defo use it in future!!!
  10. Hi, I have been using RIS to deploy XP images for a few years now and have recently upgraded to WDS this past year or so to deploy Win 7. However, I would like to be able to deploy XP base images from the WDS native server also. With RIS, it allows you to upload a copy of the original XP source CD to a network directory within RIS and to deploy this to clients as a base/clean image with no drivers, etc. Is there a way of doing this with WDS now? I do not want to have to install base XP from USB/CD but rather via the network service which RIS is so good at doing. Nor do I want to create a reference PC for base image of XP and then take an image of that to push out. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! Nick
