How to find the name of a computer that wont boot
Little-Miss replied to techie1982's topic in How do you do....it?
I'm probably talking complete nonsense, it's been a long week, but could you hook the hdd up to a caddy and load the other hive up in regedit on a working machine and find it in there.... Although that does sound a faff to do.... -
You put into words what my mushy brain wanted to. I didn't quite understand why people were pulling it to bits about the mechanics when i've heard the story is pretty damn good. I dunno about you guys, but i think a good story is important too, gets you hooked. I liked running around and climbing stuff in TR, but the (lack of) story made it a real chore. ....Mindlessly running around and blowing things up can also be good.

Why not Zoidberg? Sorry, i mean both, why not both? I want a console and a PC...that's a lie, i want a console cus i really want to play 2 particular games! I'm saving my pennies and trying to decide the best way go about starting on a PC because there's no way i'm going to be able to build what i want straight away...

Windows 8 - How much do you use Metro on a desktop/laptop?
Little-Miss replied to Dos_Box's topic in Windows 8

I took part in a few of these. A member of senior management did the talking, i was only there for the technical questions but sometimes had to do a bit of talking and I "helped" him (i did it) make a power point. You'll find the parents will have their own questions and concerns and, this sounds really mean, you'll be surprised how oblivious they are to it all. I agree with @Steve21, definitely advice and information. Even basic things like don't let the kids have a PC in their room and put it somewhere you can keep an eye on them. The last one i did, there was a lot of concern about monitoring devices like tablets and mobiles. With things like router settings and parental controls, all you can really do is point them to their ISP's website. Handouts are good, they like to be able to make notes and take it home with them.

Bah! They're not games. For me games are where i can whack a zombie around the head with a baseball bat, or hide from a cannibalistic tribe, or send a team out to destroy aliens, or rob banks, or find out that the cake is a lie, or play as a goat, or have some woman demanding i catch things she throws at me etc, etc

Haha, i was waiting for someone to pick up on that one. Brain is too mushy to use words good.

My house seems to just contain those horrible spindly ones with the long legs and little body...*shudders* I spent summer hoovering them up. I usually take the same approach as @CAM, if they're not anywhere near me, they can stay where they are. If they do make the mistake of having a wander around the carpet, they go under a pint glass and i wait for someone to take it outside.

Ha! Excellent use of that video.
