Is there a hidden GPO or reg change to disable "capitalize first letter of table cells"? I've applied near enough the same settings to disable spelling and grammar checking for Word 2016 and Word 2013. Word 2016 works a treat, 2013 however isn't. All auto-capitalisation options are disabled that can be disabled via GPO or reg. The only option that remains on is "capitalize first letter of table cells". If I uncheck this option in 2013, then the first letter of a paragraph stops auto-capitalising - but I can't find a way to disable this in GPO or registry. I've found a few sites where others have asked the same question, but there's been no answer. -Edit- Further testing shows that if I uncheck "capitalize first letter of table cells", then the first letter of new paragraphs are no longer changed to capitals. However, if I turn the option back on, the letters are still no longer capitalised. - Edit 2 - I have found the reg key to disable "capitalize first letter of table cells": Path = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\a\Software\Microsoft\Office\14. 0\Word\Options\assist\ Name = fCapTable_232_1 Type = DWORD Value = 0 This disables "capitalize first letter of table cells", but the first letter is still being changed to a capital. Damnit - Edit 3 - I don't think this is possible. If I go to File > Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options Without changing anything in this window, absolutely no changes what so ever - if I close the window to return to the document, the first letter is no longer changed to a capital. What?

I've set this reg key and still get the red squiggly line along with the right-click menu with spelling suggestions. The key is set in the registry when a user logs in.

Is there an easier way to get a list of devices from AzureAD that have (or haven't) BitLocker encryption enabled i.e. have a BitLocker key? From the GUI, the only way I can 'see' the devices keys are to go to each device from the list of devices and see if there's a key shown.

I've got a script to set a localuser account expiry date (to force them to return the laptop), but out of interest I'd like to see what the current date is when the laptop comes back There doesn't appear to be a "Get-LocalUser -Name account -AccountExpires" feature

Just wondering if anyone has one, or has come across a working one? Our signage, from what I can see, only displays text. So ideally I'm after a script of some sorts that I could add to a HTML file and use that. Ta

If anyone is still interested, GBoard is now in the UK. I've used it briefly and it has to be the quickest (and stable) keyboard for iOS I've used so far. The 'flow' keyboard is very quick and fairly accurate.

Managed to get on there last night with a mate for a couple of hours. I quite like it, but not £55 like it. Audio is awesome, and seems like a game to just drop in and out for a bit. Hoped the BETA would have a couple more things to do than what was available.

Anyone attending this year? I went last year (was knackered after travelling - 5 hour journey to London, 3-4 hours back) and had a good day out. Was hoping to go again this year, but have left it too late (had the registration site open on a tab for weeks) and now you can only attend with a session code.

Was hoping to go (would be my first) but need the holiday day (Friday) for honeymoon next year, and a friend who I was going with can't make the weekend. Planning for next year though as Army of TWO

I'll let the tutor know the that the top experts have confirmed it's not possible It does, but that applies a border to the paragraph whereas the exam question is asking for a border to be applied to the text only.

Yeah ... but this is an exam, and it'll only accept a "bottom border". Might of been easier to say left or right border. Even the tutor thinks it's a silly question. Would be easier to have text in a text box and the border wrap around that.

A tutor has come to us with an exam question using Word 2013 (the problem exists in 2010 too). The method that the exam accepts as a pass doesn't work when using Word (the exam uses a simulated version). Said method is ... Highlight some text In the paragraph 'block' on the 'Home' tab, expand the borders menu then go to "Borders and Shading" Change the "Applies to" option, in the dialog box that appears, to "Text". Click on the bottom border button in the preview area. Click OK No matter what border button or setting is pressed, the border is always set to surround the text. It doesn't seem possible to have part of a border (to the left, top, bottom, right). I've tried in Word 2010 too, and that does the same thing. There also doesn't seem to be any mention of this on any site I've seen (so far). Most examples only use the paragraph option for "applies to", which works as it should.

Our most recent IWB, or interactive projectors, are from Dell. The pens allow for mouse movement away from the board (kind of like using a laser pointer) and charge through USB. The Epson ones are good too.

If not, what do you get upto? (by stereotypical, I mean hobbies etc that still include geek like things such as computing, RPGs, card games, comics ... outside of your day to day job role). It will, but newer devices would of been built to take better advantage of the new features I assume. Screen definition would probably be the main new feature that new WP8.1 phones will 'sell'. I think 8.1 has a wider range of support for varied screen sizes. But as you say, it's an update, so current WP8 phones should be fine

Project Spark seems to be making itself apparent recently, might be worth looking into that? True, you need a Mac for iOS development ... mainly to test/distribute apps to devices. I think Android development might be too much for 'kids' (I've only had a short play with making Android apps), although there used to be a interactive WYSIWYG drag'n'drop interface produced by Google, where you could drop code 'blocks' together to produce an app. It could also distribute to the device. Android is probably the only platform that doesn't require a developer licence (paid) to distribute app, but I could be wrong there. I wouldn't say Android is a passing fad, it appears to be the most activated smartphone OS in the world (could be wrong ), and it seems that Android is getting more and more into everyday devices ... Android Wear having just been announced for wearables. Teaching the ways of BASIC would probably help a lot with understanding how apps work, but I think its the lure of pretty graphics and making games that has stopped/slowed that way of teaching

I have a iPhone 5 that's my own, and a Nokia 920 for work (also develop Windows Phone apps). I think the "lack of apps" for Windows Phone is slowly becoming a thing of the past, especially with the big named ones. I'd suggest the 1520 too. I have hardly any problems with my Nokia (compared the the iPhone!) and I believe the 1520 is the current fastest (in terms of CPU) Nokia available, not that any of the Windows Phones I've handled are slow. Windows Phone 8.1 is due to be announced soon (next month?), so you might find something else comes out nearer that time.

We've got 2 iPhone apps and a Windows Phone app (made by me ). The WP app is native, but the iPhone apps were built using Titanium which was good to start off with as the developer (a good friend) is more familiar with coding for the web, but it's proven to be tricky to keep up to date with the OS and some features just don't work the same as native code. When there's an OS update, Titanium has to update too so the code can be translated ... this can take a while

Have you tried the Windows Key + D to load the desktop, or right-click on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen and select Desktop?

Sorry if this is the wrong section. I couldn't see a SharePoint section, and I think the problem I have is due to Office. I have a user who is unable to open Excel documents from SharePoint 2010, the web app toolbars appear as they should but the content stops on the "loading" text with the circle. The documents open fine if they select "Open in Excel" from the drop down when viewing the document library. The web app works fine for the other 30 odd staff in the same department, but not for this one user (all their PC's are built identical). I've tried an Office repair, renaming the OWSPUPP.DLL found in Office15 to that the OWSPUP.DLL is used from Office 14 (we have Office 2010 and Lync 2013), resetting IE, deleting all temporary files, running in compatibility mode, running as administrator. This is a similar issue that appears randomly for staff, where staff click "Open in x" (Word or Excel) and the page reports that a version of Office isn't installed. We think its because we're running Office 2010 and Lync 2013 (they have different Office folders within Program files, ones is Office 14 for 2010, and the other is Office 15 for 2013) and they both have a file named OWSPUP, which appears to be linked to opening office files from SharePoint. There doesn't appear to be a sure fix for either issue, and the PC's that are effected are little in numbers, but the fact it happens is annoying. The last option is to rebuild the PCs.

Not sure if there's a workaround/fix for this but here's the issue we (and students) have: With the MyPC booking system, after a set amount of time, the user is logged out of the PC (they get a warning 15 and 5 mins before hand and can extend the time). Usually, if a PC is logged off or shutdown by accident, we can usually recover unsaved/temp documents for the user as its often saved to the local profile of the machine. We've found that, if the user is logged off the machine from MyPC, the local profile and anything related to that user is also deleted. This means that if a user has forgotten to save the changes, save the document they've been working on for hours (yes, hours) without saving once, or worked on a document from an email and not changed the save location, there's almost no chance of retrieving the temp files. I try to take the opportunity to recommend saving as often as possible (and save the document as soon as its created), but can understand the frustration of doing a lot of work only for it to disappear.
