Hi, I am new to all this but I recently purchased a X4150 and am very happy with the build quality and performance. I have been reading through this thread and I am wanting to purchase a couple of 7110's to consolidate all my data from various servers. 1. I currently run DFS with the data coming from 2 servers, am I able to still run DFS with the data being held on the 7110's? 2. Which protocol is best suited to DFS - NFS or iSCSI - performance will play a part in this? 3. I am also considering moving my SIMS Database, etc onto the 7110 and having a cluster setup at the front end for fault tolerance is this viable? 4. As I said before I use DFS this obviously kept my data replicated a cross servers, is it still okay to do that with the 7110 or are you able to use the built in replication to do this better? Sorry for all the questions I might have more, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Craig

I though it was something to do with the router. No I dont have admin rights, the router was supplied by SWGFL. Is there any other way round it?

Yes the clients default gateway is set via DHCP to 192.168.4.1. 192.168.4.1 is the 5412zl Core Switch. I forgot to mention the Servers and Switches/Router are in the default VLAN(1). When I ping the router 10.2.111.254 from a client on the 192.168.4.0/22 range I get "Request timed out".

Hi, Im a noob to VLANs and I am having some trouble getting my head around it. Any help would be great, thank you in advance. I have HP Procurve switches 5412zl in the core and 2650 on the edge. I have setup vlans between switches without any problems. I also have DHCP serving IP Addresses within both VLANs. My setup: default VLAN(1) - IP Range 10.2.104.0/21 second VLAN(11) - IP Range 192.168.4.0/22. My default gateway is 10.2.111.254, how can I get VLAN(11) to access the internet/default gateway?
