Another vote for Moodle although we are really p!^"ed off as after all our hard work setting it up new Director of E-learning went straight to Head and got the go ahead to buy StudyWiz. Had since 2008 and still not launched as expected. Problem with all VLEs is getting them off the ground it does not matter how much you spend, if you cannot get the staff on board and trained it dies a death. Hence my vote for Moodle, highly customisable, we got LDAP working with no problems and did not cost a penny.

Hi In a rush earlier so forgive my first post. I have some questions. I assume this is a new exchange server? 1. Is the NIC configured correctly with static IP and DNS pointing to DC in your domain with DNS forwarders correctly configured? 2. Have you specified the correct default gateway? 3. Do you have a public IP for the mail server and an associated DNS record? If so you should be able to use nslookup on both name and ip and get a valid response. If you fail here I would say you need to speak to your ISP. I will give you our set up as an example. Our MX record is held by redprotect.co.uk. We have been assisigned a public IP starting 193.164. Our mail server has a DNS record of mail.domainname.city.sch.uk. Our mail is delivered to Redstones mail server and forwarded to our mail server. The public IP 193. is forwared by our PIX to the mail server on our LAN. When I perform an nslookup on the name or public ip they both resolve correctly. Having performed the checks above can you resolve your public ip/dns name using nslookup? -

What is your in house Domain Name (ie domain.local). You will have to configure masquerading on your Exchange box. -
Thanks for looking guys. Anyone else got any ideas?

Hi all, can anyone help?

Evening All, Have had this problem for a while now but I thought it was about time I put it to bed. Weare running the Edugeek Joomla 1.5 package on a Centos 5 box. We did not always have this problem but now any images in the Simple image gallery that consist of black/very dark subjects have white pixels in them. I cannot put my finger on exactly when this happened but it was not always the case. See here for an example and view the slideshow to see the problem These white pixels are not apparent in the original images. Anyone have any ideas. Edugeek Joomla 1.5 upgraded to 1.5.8 Thanks

Thanks Steve for your reply. Can anyone else help with this?

We are running StudyWiz on a Centos 5 Box and have implemented LDAP authentication. We are now thinking about pointing the users elocker to their home folder. Users home folders reside on a Server 2003 R2 box. Is this feasible. I am a linux noob but understand that we could (with help from you guys) mount the home folders on the Studywiz (Centos5) box. How do we go about doing this? What are the security implications? Should I just stop now and say it cannot be done?

Just curious, what form did this attack take and how were you alerted?

If your worried install Joomla Pack on your site and do a backup. I have used this extensively and it simplifies the backup of Joomla and the SQL database.
-
Have upgraded our site without problems (touch wood).
-
Thanks Guys, I need to replace our old Intranet hopefully with a Staff only area on our Joomla website. What does everyone else do? Do you still have an Intranet site?
-
Hi Alonebfg Have you seen Joomla Pack, a free addin that provides a backup function for Joomla. I have been using it on our site and it is very easy to restore the site from a backup as it goes through the Joomla installation wizard.

Using Liberum here, does all we need at the moment and free.

Hi All, Anyone got Joomla working with Active Directory, such that permissions for editing and publishing can be assigned according to OU membership. I would like to have a staff only area on our Joomla site to post content for staff eyes only.

Go in to the JCE configuration and select Use Template CSS = NO In my case as I am using the eg default template : Use Custom CSS File = templates/eg_default1.5/css/template_css.css To remove the blue background follow these instructions: How do I fix the JCE Editor background problem in the default template? Instructions from SYSMAN_MK: Make a copy of the template css file and rename it jce_css.css. Leave this file in the CSS folder of your template folder (i.e. templates/eg_default/css/jce_css.css) Edit this new css file, and change the body tag with the following: body{ margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; background: #ffffff text-align: center; font-family: Verdana, Arial; color: #000000; Save the new file Go to JCE Configuration in the JCE menu (backend admin) Change the 'Template CSS Classes' setting to 'No' In the 'Custom CSS Classes' type in the name of your new css file eg: templates/eg_default1.5/css/jce_css.css Hit Save I should have read the instructions for EGJP 1.0 again.

Hi Simon, Thanks for having a look. I unpublished the other editors to see if this was causing a problem. Maybe Alone BFG will be along to help. Have a good evening

More info It appears that the editor is Tiny MCE and try as I might I cannot change it to JCE. I have changed it in global configuration and set it as the default editor and in the user management option. When editing an article it is still the Tiny MCE. Help!!!!!!

Hi All, I have got my site up and running with the Edugeek Joomla package 1.2 but as I have only just started thought I would start again using the Edugeek 1.5 version. For some reason there are no styles in the JCE Editor. Am I doing something wrong?
-
Thanks Sysman MK. I thought I was going nuts as I could not for the life of me see how it was done. Ah well. Zorba

Thanks, Am I missing something? I can add custom text but how do I make the text different for each image displayed. See site below Appleby Grammar School - Home
-
Anyone help with this please? Apologies if it is documented somewhere, but I can't find it. To recap I want to put a different caption on every image in the JSN slideshow. I have seen it done on some of your Edugeek Joomla sites. Thanks in Advance
-
Hi Guys, have been looking at some of your sites and notice you have different text displayed on each of the images in the JSN Image Show. Can you let me know how you did this?
