Thank you link. --------- Thanks to all the people that have posted. Alot of useful tools to download and play with. Have also been using spiceworks, seems a good piece of kit as well. Have brought myself a HDD enclosure with virstual disk capabilities so all the iso images can be run straight from the HDD. Hopefully i can now go into the school when i start and make our lives easier. They are bound to need some tool. WIll also be useful for when im doing friends computers at home, thats why i brought it myself mainly. When i was on work experience i found that some places are a bit funny about you taking school property home, even if it was to help them out. The IT manager in the end brought several memory stick himself.

Hi, I have just brought myself a zalman ve200 HDD enclosure but im now looking for a compatible hard drive. After looking around for a external hard drive and reading reviews on how some usb external hard drives cant get enough power im now wondering if i may be limited to a 5400rpm HDD. Can anyone with one of these devices give any advice please? Also a more general question that i would like to ask is what manufacturer of HDD do people trust these days. I've recently had two Western Digital devices fail lately. Thanks in advance, Fred.

Have gone in a completely different direction and brought the zalman ve200 enclosure after readin about it on this forum. It has a hardware write protect switch and also iso mounting capability. Thanks for all of your help, lets hope i made the correct decision.

Thanks all. Think what i may do is get one of the cheaper ones with a cap and then just stick a loop of some sort on it so i can't loose it. The capless one's don't seem to have enough protection against dirt etc getting onto the connectors. May go for the corsair flash voyager, or the cheaper home make if they have a decent warranty.

Hi, I went out and brought a memory stick today but it is one with a cap. Give it a week or two and i know that the cap will be missing somewhere around the school. I've been having a look around at capless usb memory but what i've found is tha many have a retractable usb but it doesnt cover the end of the usb up so rubbish can still get in. This makes the retractable usb capless design almost useless. Does anyone know of a usb memory stick that properly manages to cover the usb connection? Thanks Fred

Some brill apps there. Thanks Have downloaded some poprtable apps- Notepad++ xampp Firefox JKDefrag Foxit Reader Open office They seem to be good software if you dont want to install programs on individual computers. Have yet to check licenses to see if they are only free for personal use though.
