Don't know if anyone is still interested, but this is truly a case of RTFM. Download the User Manual (OfficeJet 7000 User Manual.pdf) - therein it describes in graphic detail how to reset to default settings ... Press and hold power button, press Ethernet button twice, press Cancel three times, release Power button. Works a treat.
