Hello, I seem to have ended up as the "go to" guy in SIMS in our school, which is ironic as I probably have the least experience in it. One of our admin team recently asked me the following: "When we print address labels it will not pick up if a student has a second home and we have to remember who has asked for correspondence to be sent to a second address and send any info separately. At the moment we record this by putting a full stop at the end of the parent salutation so that when we send the letters we can see who needs the same info sent to another address, but this is sometimes missed. It would be really good if this could happen automatically when we run a report. Can you see if this would be possible?" Well...any ideas how to make this process better? Thanks in advance.

Hello all, sorry, I'm sure this has been asked before, but despite time spent searching and trawling I haven't found a definitive answer yet. Is there a way of assigning a teacher to two classes at the same time? Background - we have two Post-16 Art Classes. One is Y12 Students. One is Y11 Students who have started AS Level early. For reporting reasons and others they sit in two separate class lists in SIMS but are in the same physical room with the same physical teacher. This means the teacher can't currently register all students as they are only assigned to one class on the timetable. They also can't access the SIMS marksheet that contains half of the students as it doesn't have them assigned as the teacher. Hope that makes sense. Thanks, Cameron

Hello, hoping for a bit of help. We have a 6th Form that is shared between a couple of schools. We and another school use SIMS. A third school uses CMIS. Students are registered so that one of the schools is their "home" school but they may have lessons at all 3 sites. We are having a bit of a problem monitoring attendance! At the minute, on our SIMS system, students have a full timetable as even the classes that they have at other sites exist within their timetable in our SIMS so that we can see where they are meant to be when etc. However, as the teachers at the other sites can't access our SIMS we rely on an admin at the other sites exporting attendance reports from their systems (either SIMS or CMIS) and sending it to us once a week. We then have to manually update attendance marks in SIMS for their lessons. Is there a way of exporting marks from CMIS and importing into SIMS so that attendance marks are automatically updated? Hello, sorry if this question has been answered before, but I couldn't find an answer! I'm a newbie in timetabling for a secondary school using T6 and trying to learn the ropes. Basically, at our school we have different times of day on a MT than on a WTF. This is caused by the addition of a 40min PSHE session at the start of the day on MT. So, on a MT students have Reg for 15mins, then PSHE for 40mins, then 6 curriculum lessons. On a WTF students just have 15mins Reg then 6 curriculum lessons. As students aren't in the same class for Reg and PSHE we've had to set up "P1" to act as PSHE on a MT whilst it just acts as the normal first curriculum lesson on a WTF. The problem this creates is confusion amongst staff. Everyone refers to Registration as "Reg" and PSHE as "PSHE". They then call the first curriculum lesson "Period 1". This all makes sense but on timetables and the registers etc this first curriculum lesson on a MT is actually "P2"! This has caused so much confusion this year. Is there a way around this??? Hope the above makes sense. If not please ask and I'll try to clarify it better.
