Has anyone had a look at the new deployment option & requirements for Fusion 360 in Labs? https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Education-Plan-How-to-Migrate-Fusion-Lab-Installations-to-Autodesk-Account-Deployments.html We've received an email to say that the existing option will be retired in early Sept 2026 "Important: Schools with Fusion installed on lab computers should create a deployment package from their account by following the instructions here. The current process is expected to be retired in early September 2026." Thanks!

Oakham School is an Independent School with a large and fantastic site, with a great kitchen providing a range of hot and cold lunch options during term time (free for all members of staff). For more details on the role, please use the link at the top of the post or send me a message. Important note - The school runs a 6 day teaching week and requires some Saturday support, this is shared across the entire team on a rota (planned well in advance). Currently, during the academic year this will generally be 4 to 8 Saturdays per year. Thank you for looking. Dan

Android also has an OCR password scanner for entering long PSK's now too.

Thanks, I've had a look at the FreeRadius option and it's tempting. My worry is that if something breaks, either because we make a mistake or when Microsoft decide to make a change, that we'll be left with a campus full of wireless devices that need a manual fix. Suppose we could pre-load all organisation owned devices with a wireless profile for a PSK SSID, then keep that SSID profile turned off on the wireless ready to activate if it all goes wrong.
-
We're heading Cloud Only for our client devices and everything has a suitable solution except for Wireless Authentication of Devices. There are plenty of cloud based radius & PKI solutions but they all seem to come in at £10k+ for a reasonable number of devices (1,500). Wondering what everyone else is doing around wireless authentication for Azure AD Joined devices. Thanks,

Thanks, not for this one unfortunately. Startup memory is configured to 1024Mb.

No, nothing useful in the SMSPXE.log. The client is correctly shown as an unknown client and is assigned the correct boot image and proceeds to PXE boot (tt's picking up the correct Management Point too). But, once it gets to WinPE it reboots before loading anything more than the background.
-
Yep, Task Sequence is deployed to the machine and the same thing happens for unknown computers. It shouldn't be driver based issues as it happens with a Hyper-V too. It's the speed at which the reboot happens that makes me think something is wrong with the boot images.
-
Yep, distributed to the DP's Ok.
-
Thanks, unfortunately I don't think it even gets to the point of trying to get an IP. Also happens with a Hyper-V VM.

Morning, I've got a weird SCCM error that I can't get to the bottom of. When booting from PXE or USB Media, WinPE will load and then immediately exit and reboot the system. Doesn't even stay online long enough to hit F8 and stop the reboot. I've uninstalled and reinstalled ADK / WinPE. Recreated the Boot Images, etc It just doesn't work and I can't think of any reason why. Any suggestions or pointers? Cheers, Dan

I had a need to search through and check which live lessons had been recorded on Teams. I couldn't find a way to to discover which meetings were recorded in the Unified Audit Log so I looked at Stream instead and then the groups that had been given access to the video. Thought I'd post the powershell incase anyone else needs it, it's certainly not perfect but gets another job done. # Reference Materials: # https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/audit-logs#actions-logged-in-stream $creds = Get-Credential # Connect to Azure AD Connect-AzureAD -Credential $creds # Connect to Exchange Online Connect-ExchangeOnline -Credential $creds # variables... $domain = "schoolname.co.uk" $license = "[MSOL License SKU ID goes here" $folder = "C:\Cache\" # Search range (American date formate M/D/YYYY) $startdate = "1/18/2021 1:00 AM" $enddate = "1/21/2021 1:00 AM" # Get a list of staff meeting the criteria $stafflist = $null $stafflist = Get-AzureADUser -All $true -Filter "AccountEnabled eq true" | Where-Object {($_.AssignedLicenses).SkuId -contains $license} # Set the log file destination $wtf = $folder+$domain+".csv" Write-Host ("Starting...") foreach ($staff in $stafflist) { if ($staff.UserPrincipalName -like "*$domain") { # Search for events where a StreamVideo has been created by the user. $teams = Search-UnifiedAuditLog -StartDate $startdate -EndDate $enddate -UserIds $staff.UserPrincipalName -RecordType MicrosoftStream -Operations StreamCreateVideo # Search for permission change events for Stream Videos $perms = Search-UnifiedAuditLog -StartDate $startdate -EndDate $enddate -UserIds $staff.UserPrincipalName -RecordType MicrosoftStream -Operations StreamEditVideoPermissions | Select-Object -ExpandProperty AuditData | ConvertFrom-Json # Investigate each individual event where a video was created foreach ($lesson in $teams) { # Move the audit details to a workable object $lessondata = $lesson.AuditData | ConvertFrom-Json # Flag to determine is a recording was found $recorded = $false # Loop through the list of permission changes that have happened for the user foreach ($perms_event in $perms) { # Extract the permissions change event from the audit data $action = $perms_event | Select-Object -ExpandProperty OperationDetails | ConvertFrom-Json | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Added # Check if the action was to assign a Viewer to the video if ($action.Role -eq "Viewer") { # Extract the ResourceID of the permissions change event $perms_operation = $perms_event | Select-Object -ExpandProperty OperationDetails | ConvertFrom-Json | Select -ExpandProperty ResourceID # Does the Permission event relate to the Lesson? if ($lessondata.ResourceUrl -like "*$perms_operation") { # The action matches the Lesson # Return the GroupID associated with the Video $groupID = $action.PrincipalIds $group_name = Get-AzureADObjectByObjectId -ObjectIds $groupID # Found a recording and the group to match, update the recording flag $recorded = $true Write-Host $lessondata.UserId"-"$group_name.DisplayName"-"$lessondata.CreationTime"-"$lessondata.ResourceTitle } } } } } else { # Do nothing } }

Found the fix here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/asiasupp/2011/06/23/disabling-offline-files-removes-pinned-items-from-windows-7-task-bar/
-
Hi, Could anyone confirm if the following is expected behaviour, or if I've made a mistake somewhere? We are redirecting the users desktop to a ReadOnly network shared, as result of this users are able to pin items to the taskbar (Explorer, Chrome, etc). However, after rebooting the pinned taskbar items disappear. Load one of the previously pinned applications and right click the taskbar item, the option to 'Unpin from taskbar' is available suggesting that Windows has remembered the pinned item. If we simply change the users desktop to a writeable location the issue no longer exists and the taskbar icons remain after a reboot, is this by design? This is on Windows 10, 1607 and 1703. Thanks,

Link - Repeating Timed Policies | Lightspeed Systems Community Site We don't prevent use during any specific hours at the moment, hopefully this request will allow us to do so.
-
Hi, I've put a feature request on LightSpeed MDM which I think would be of great use, so I'm trying to drum up some votes for it. It's for repeating timed policies - policies which repeat every day or week instead of needing to create a policy for each date. For us it would be great to prevent the students using iPads between the hours of 10pm and 7am to promote a good nights sleep. Thanks! Dan.

Hi, I've just installed HAP v10.1 and I've come across an issue which I need some help with; when a user tries logon with their UPN, and they get a Server Error in Application error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index Logging on with the users Pre2000 account name works fine. Many thanks, Dan.

Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to host multiple instances of Sims SQL on a single server (in separate SQL Instances of course)? Thanks, Dan.
-
Err, so these aren't going to work with a standard Office 365 for Education subscription...come on Microsoft.
-
Ok, heres a question. How do you reinstall Sims.NET Workstation on the Sims Server? Since installing the latest update Sims.NET will crash before getting to the logon screen, all the clients are ok it's just the server which has failed to update correctly. Generally for a workstation we'll just remove the Solus3 client, rename the folder in program files, reinstall Solus3 agent and its sorted. Since this is the Sims and Solus3 server it won't allow us to remove the Solus3 agent - so how do I reinstall Sims Workstation on the server? Why isn't there an option in Solus 3 to tell the client, 'Uninstall and Reinstall Sims.Net'!?!
