Ertan, cheers for the reply. My main concern is the method of getting that backup offsite and rotating that repository without losing archive data in a manner that is not a major hassel.

So we are looking at upgrading our backup solution to a self-contained HP StorageWorks NAS box running Veeam backing up 6 VMs. What I can't seem to get a clear answer on is how we go about setting up an archival harddrive backup for offsite. Using Veeam, what would you suggest is the best way to go about maintaining an offsite hard drive based backup archive? Initially, I was looking into mirroring the setup we have in our old Unitrends appliance within the NAS, which essentially breaks out into a second rack-mounted HDD bay connected over SATA. The appliance treats the drives in the break out unit as an archive, runs the task each week and we hot swap them as needed. Initiating the drives would then let you know what data is currently stored on them for restore jobs. However, I can't seem to figure out a hassle free way of setting this up using Veeam and am unclear how restores would then function with the OS reading drive with data already on them. While it sounds a bit clunky the easiest way that comes to mind is external USB drives. Bare in mind I have minimal experience with Veeam and am potentially missing something here, but their rotating drive config looks like it should address this function. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sylv3r. Our long form content follows more or less the exact same path. That's not really an issue as most of the staff don't submit longer content. I had a look into Buffer, looks almost perfect but would end up being ridiculous money if I wanted all staff to have access. Similar story with Hootsuite. After posting this question I started having a look into Zapier to see if there is something I could put together there. I'm still working on it but I think I might be able to piece something together that would smooth the workflow. What I'm thinking is having staff email the headmaster the tweets directly with images/video as attachments. Headmaster gets a notice when a new email appears, he checks it then forwards it onto an inbox monitored by a Zap that tweets any emails it gets. I could secure the account by bouncing any messages not coming from a certain email address/es. It sounds just as cumbersome I know but it is far more practical than having to log into Twitter copy the tweet and media over and send it out. You can forward emails from anywhere from anything. Thoughts? And thanks for the suggestions you've already made

Hoping that someone can help me out here with some ideas. We tweet out images of the school's day to day activities with the children. Currently, a staff member will snap an image, mail it over to the headmaster for "approval" and he will go ahead and post it with a bit of blurb. This year they also want to start doing short videos as well. I'm not loving the workflow we have going here. Having to email each post for approval to then be tweeted in turn is a pain in itself, including video files shot on an iPad the process is overly cumbersome. How do other schools handle the flow of social media content? Cheers

I'm also having this problem. It was working fine a while ago and all of a sudden, nothing! The ability to even run the Discovery tool comes and goes. I've tried running it under a full admin account, I've checked to see if it is being stopped by the firewall checked that the traffic is allowed through the proxy, tried by passing the proxy. No luck. We also looked at Eclipse.Net but were not comfortable with relying on the Middle East's iffy internet to keep the connection up. I was expecting it to be a web based but locally hosted system with perhaps a link back to MSL for remote back ups.

I think you did mention that yes. I work at a school in the Middle East and we were one of the first adopters of Engage in the region and I feel your pain, or at least our registrar does. We have probably reported and discovered more bugs than anyone else and have built up a bit of a rep with their support as we are in communication daily. As far as I am aware no there is no way to import kids yourself, if you are talking about a migration from another MIS this was fully handled by Double First when we made the cross over from Phoenix which at the time wasn't supported for migration so they had to write it from scratch for us. On a side note about Engage, is it just me or does this still feel beta-ish to you? Our latest issue has been with the timetable module, after being told that there was no timetable it couldn't handle, we threw 15 minutes lessons at them and discovered that there is apparently a 20 period cap on it. Who knew? haha
