if not getting block message and software just errors out. Then sounds like injection causing an issue in which case on server under tools > Injection Exclusions. You can add the exe to this to disable injection for that exe . Make sure you log out and log back in workstation (alt restart impero client service for changes to take effect). Russ

russdev replied to newpersn's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Hello To block google chrome two options one is Impero Proxy but the recommended method is to use google chrome browser extensions. They are on chrome store but also our KB and manuals have info on how to deploy using GPO. Russell -

How did I find EG think via education UK Usenet list and as Tony pointed out pretty much spotted each other first and then life took a strange turn after that day Few moments I remember over years: - The first conference me and Tony organised. I also remember Dave from RM getting very nervous every time we used the ASUS netbook (as only 2/3 in country at the time). - Only one of two Smart tables in UK breaking on BETT stand and guy from a technician from Scotland (I think) had to come down as he was only one in UK who knew how to fix it. - Meeting Tony/Chris for first time at BETT on the ICT Register stand - After I put phone down after had Conversation with BETT organisers after we agreed we would do technical help stand. That moment of sinking feeling.. - What will be ever known between me and @GrumbleDook as the "Christmas eve catholic incident" where a few years back we spent most of Christmas Evev day and night dealing with problem thread. - The now very famous when "EduGeek visited RM" meeting where we had all gone in shirt/ties etc and meeting with RM board members who where all in jeans and t-shirt (as was dress down Friday). - However the thing that stands out to me is people that I meet over years and still meet to this day. I do often feel like part of some weird "Hellfire club" when I go down BETT etc. Russell

list of "radical" terms for email content filter
russdev replied to mjk's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I would agree it is like e-safety and for example e-safety triangle and taking managed approach. In this context a lot of this based around the PREVENT strategy and in fact some good stuff around this here.. Prevent strategy resources for schools in the tri-borough area - Hammersmith & Fulham A good quote is from one the resources is "Prevent is based on having conversations with trusted colleagues andusing professional judgement to understand when to intervene" . They key here is to have resources that help you take things into context and make informed decisions based on your knowledge of a student. I want to make something very clear technically as far as I am aware there in no provision in law to protect someone if they look at terrorist material for research. A good article here https://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/news/researchers-have-no-right-to-study-terrorist-materials/402844.article The issue is not searching term it is the material you may access when you search for it.. To bring it back around schools should in partnership maybe with LA have a well rounded strategy PREVENT is starting to filter somethings down.. Russell -

list of "radical" terms for email content filter
russdev replied to mjk's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
The point I was trying to make is I suspect no one of this forum has the knowledge to make a list of that nature (I worked on Impero's and don't have full knowledge to do it on my own). Lets take example you make a list, set the list up and you miss something. First thing going to ask is why that got missed, why did you not have that term on list. Who is going to get blame when school is on the BBC?? What is your argument "I don't know about subject is not one of them "as you set the list you missed it" when got media involved... Lets go down route going to do some research for your list to go and get some words of terrorist terms you potentially broke the law and certainly I suspect the school AUP. Point I am making is that asking people to create something they know they little about. Also looking at OP the fact you spoke about Jihadist to make obvious point but radlicsation not just about Syria so your starting point has flaws already that you could be hold accountable for.. That is point I am trying to make. The reason mentioned how we did at Impero was trying to show that not about coming up with list of words but how you come up with it. if you mean Not Share who we work with... Search Impero in google news if want to know whom we work with but don't want to post as then would be adding pr on the forum. However if mean not shre the lists, obviously our lists are for our customers same as secures and policy Central lists are same. The fact lists were not created in a day but there is throughout the process and working with experts all that has commercial value. As said previously many places lists are useful in context and understanding them which why our terms have glossary next to them to help teachers understand context. Let's make some things clear radicalisation is not just about terrorism (while that is the flavour of the month) hence why our lists contain every from far right, extremists and terrorist organisations/terms. Don't get me wrong there is merit in someone creating a list searching the internet but the list will be short and lack of understanding on the subject. This same view we took with other lists for example the eating disorder lists making sure we work with experts on them and give teachers context to a word. I also make point as others have work with SLT as if you start looking some of this up could get yourself into lot of hot water. Also there lot of political and personnel views around this subject and making sure that SLT can communicate to other staff, students and parents is important. Russell -

Big disclaimer of conflict of interest etc... To be very honest I doubt anyone here has expertise to be able to create a list. Based on my experience in short time you need to create it with experts who understand it as so much that average person will not understand. Hence why at Impero we create lists with third parties.. Hi Glad got it sorted.. Also if not been suggested by support already try renaming the non-virtual box adapter to have the name Impero in it. Russ
