Right here are my two pennies worth....for what its worth. Actually it seems to work although there are 3 aspects which I would critise it on: 1) aestetics of the interface (apparently this is the next project to get a .NET make over, information to be released in Jan 09). 2) it does not drag assessment data in 3) it does not deal with Subject Specific Targets coherantly (you can manipulate the system to allow it to deal with this, but there is nothing to do this specifically).
We are relying on an access database set up about 5 years ago, that seems to be fine. We have centralised access database that deals with pretty much everything, and I will integrate the 5 year old one into that. I have found a really handy tool in Access 2007 which allows you to create an attachment as a field. We will publish the IEP's as PDF's then attach these to a student as an intemediate solution.
