Firstly can I just say how impressed I have been with the setup process for AUP and I am very pleased with everything about it, except one thing I was hoping you could help with. After about 20 minutes the AUP server program crashes, no error message just terminates itself and has to be restarted. Has anyone else come across this at all? Thanks in adavnce for any help you can offer.

Out of interest, what are Wirral Schools up against BSF wise - who have Wirral LEA designated as their Managed Service Provider etc? RM? Thanks for the info, I am at a Liverpool school now, but was previusly a NM at a Wirral School

It was a failing school with a failing network certainly - and they wanted someone with a fair amount of experience at a strategic level as an NM. I was on 31k as an NM at my last school. I just don't think the north/south divide is a factor - its more to do with how desperate schools get to affect change!

Not necessarily, I am on 35k and in a secondary school in Liverpool - the variety of wages for NM's is quite amazing. However the dreaded TUPE is lurking in a year or two as we are a BSF school. Steve

Has anyone ever opened up the back of the RMOne ? Talk about a dog's dinner! It needs 2 staff just to hold it all in while the other tries to screw the cover back on! I prefer Dell's USFF too, decent build quality - not a proper all-in-one which is a plus for me anyway as someone who quites like to be able to open things up and have a poke around..... and before anyone makes any smart remarks, yes I have been CRB checked!!!!

I know its all a little simplistic but isnt the easiest option to keep your hands out of your mouth and wash hands before eating etc? I wash my hands 200 times a day but then I am a serial nail biter 8O

Hi, I am a Network Manager at a large all boys secondary school and looking for a new job! I have 9 years experience in schools and the last 4 of which has been as a Network Manager. I have procurement and BSF experience along with managing the implementation of an e-learning platform in my last 2 schools. I am a member of a 15 strong evaluation panel currently evaluating/procuring a new e-learning platform for all schools across Liverpool. I have a track record of redevelopment and progress within ICT and across the curriuculum and experience of managing a team of technical staff. My problem - I am in a job that I love in a school that I hate. If you are looking to recruit an experienced and hard working Network Manager, I would be grateful if you would consider myself.
