  1. try using psexec with a list of pc and the --ProgressOnly flag for the installer alternatively (I've to test this) you could run the installer with the --skipdependencies flag and copy the folder of the new installed version on a remote share...then just make the clients point to the share to run udk, this could work to run new updates having all the dependencies already installed
  2. hallo I'm facing a little problem... I've set up a wireless network with radius authentication on NPS till now for every student that came to my office asking for wifi connection, i created an account in AD and let them put a password to complete the registration this year I'd like to automate the process a little bit populating in advance an active directory OU with all the new users...and here it is my problem I can bulk import new users via powershell (name, surname and id) but is it possible to generate random passwords and mail them to che users? how do you approach similar issues? thank you for any advice L.
  3. hallo does anyone know if with NPS is possible to control simultaneous sessions? students started sharing credentials and I find difficult to track multiple access in log viewer.. thanks
  4. ias log viewer also here, I see the "user ip" field but it's empty as a test I've set up another access point (different brand) and with this one I can see also the user ip...
  5. hallo I've configured nps to authenticate wireless users, it woks fine but viewing the logs I don't see any user ip..only the mac address there's something I could've missed in nps/dhcp configuration or the problem could be in the access points? thanks in advance

    nas suggestion

hallo I need to order a new nas for the university where I work (at the moment we have an openfiler box on consumer pc) the nas should be rack mounted and will be used for videos/pictures/documents, backup and hopefully as a datastore for virtual machines the budget I guess will be lower than low, anyway I'm taking a look to qnap and synology products like qnap ts-459U and synology RS810+ anyone have exprerience with them (or have to suggest another product)? as regard disks...I guess I'll use western digital RE disks (500GB or 1TB) in raid5 to have at least 3TB storage thanks a lot
  8. hallo i'm testing cameyo with some small apps (vlc, winrar, adobe reader ...), it works fine but i've a question........ how could you deploy virtualized applications and configure file associations / desktop icons? is it possible?
  9. hi to all it's the first time i write in this board and actually i'm nearly desperate in the university where i work we've constant network issues...pages that don't load o load just the html without css and an overall slow connection we have a 2Mbps (yes, two) hdsl line shared among more than 150 users (laptops, desktop, servers, voip..) the network in structured in this way isp router --- isp firewall --- zeroshell box --- 3570 switch____ vlan access points | |_____ vlan classrooms |_______ vlan offices the zeroshell box is a linux distribution i use to manage qos / firewalling but can't find a way to make things work i mean...a slow but working network would be ok, no problem to take 20minutes to buffer a youtube video, but often i've issues even opening the google's home page do you think that my only option would be upgrading to a faster line...or am i doing something wrong with network configuration? blocking wireless laptops stop, more or less, the problem but it's not an option... in qos rules i've classified the subnets giving them max bandwidth and priority, i've also classified http and dns with high priority and dropped in the firewall outgoing udp ports above 1024 any help would be really appreciated! thanks
