  1. From what I could see there was only one driver for this model but will have another look. I even tried upgrading the firmware but it fails hard
  2. Hi All, I'm aware that people (many people) have been having issues with windows 7 and printing so I thought I'd jump in with my peculiar problem. We have a couple of Brother printers, (HL-2140 and 2030), locally attached to Windows 7 machines in the school. They seem to have installed correctly, showing up in devices and printers, with the latest drivers from the brother site but when you go to print a test page nothing happens. If you unplug the USB cable or the power then the printer icon goes grey, plug it back in and it becomes solid again. I have tried uninstalling the printers, reinstalling, deleting the driver and reinstalling, logged in both locally and on the network but nothing appears to be helping. My latest workaround was to install XP mode virtual machine and install there, which worked fine, but this is not really a usable fix. Can anyone help me?? please?? Thanks John

Have you added the policy to the student profile in AD?
  4. Does that lock out the mouse and keyboard when in safe mode then? Sounds good in theory, however if the mouse and keyboard don't work the kids turn feral and start smashing them etc. Need to find a way of intergrating a script into RM so that either the machine reboots when safemode is detected or it doesn't allow them to log on while in safemode. Have set all the students as domain guests (saves space on the oh so massive 40gig hdds) so there's no local profiles to worry about
  5. Where would you upload the CSS file to? Also would it be best creating a whole new css file of "adapting" a pre-existing one?
  6. Just like our trains lol However, the concensus here seems to be that random free stuff just doesn't actually happen. Maybe we should press the matter futher and find out where it is coming from.
  7. We can't give it away because as far as we are told it is "on loan" from somewhere. However all the other stuff that is "on loan" has never been returned, in small part to the fact we have no idea where it is coming from.
  8. Don't think it's that she's attractive or not but these things do appear to come in quite quietly. It's odd.
  9. We're still running XP this end so yeah that would be really helpfull. Thanks (Yeah the thread is old but the problem still rages lol)
  10. I don't suppose you coded this did you?
  11. Well done sir, Just tried this in our office and we're going to try it out in the classrooms as of next week. Only issue we'll have now is if they start yanking the ports off the wall. If they do that however a charge will be going home with said students
