Isn't that Windows Group Policy, not WorkGroup Manager? If the Macs are also meant to read this same group policy, I must have a configuration error somewhere.

Is there a Group Policy setting in Workgroup Manager to specify a groups homepage....can't seem to find the setting.

Hi guys, Thanks for all your replies, I have recreated our blocking policy with the folder method and still getting the same error, it has improved things as this is the only one, instead of having all sorts relating to fonts, etc. Very weird, did some internet based research and in past versions there was an update application that could be added to the allowed policy and this would solve the error, been through all the folders relating to Office and there is no sign of this app, set updates to both manual and then automatic, this has not changed anything.

Really hoping that somebody can help me with this problem. We have currently started to restrict users access to applications through WorkGroup Manager, however, due to this I am getting some issues with Office:Mac 2011. When the user starts Word they get a message that states, "You don't have permission to use the application 'Microsoft AU Daemon'". I did get similar messages, but managed to find the .apps to allow the users to use them, but I cannot find anything regard this Microsoft AU Daemon, I know it relates to updates and in previous versions it was in the applications area.

Sorry if this has already been fixed, if so please provide me with a link. But we are having an issue with some Windows 7 SP1 computers, some random computers are hanging on boot and just displaying the "Please Wait" screen. A configuration change has been made in GPO to show any process that might be happening in the background during the phase, but no updated or MSI's are being deployed. Any help???

Looking for a little bit of help... SP2003 had a great little Web Part called Picture Navigation, however this seems to have been removed from SP2010, does anybody know if any of the other web parts can be configured to do the same thing?

We are a little bit tied to 2003 for the time being, due to Exchange restrictions. But I will have a good play with 2008 R2 Dc when I get there.

Making some progress, just deleted to non-needed folders from the .V2 profile before logging on. Will knock up a logon script for this, thanks for the help guys!

The Profiles for XP "Everything" full control, and the .V2 is only showing up as Special Permissions. I have not redirect AppData, is this something you suggest doing?

Greetings, I am wondering if anybody has any solutions of fixes to the current Windows 7 problem I have. We are currently on a 2003 domain running both XP and Windows 7 environments. The student accounts currently have roaming profiles. As we are on both XP and Win 7, two sets of profiles get created the standard one and a .V2 The issue is the extra "documents, music, contacts, Downloads" and other folders that get generated in the .V2 profile. Ideally I would like the .V2 to look identical to the standard XP profile, as I can see students putting work in the Documents folder, rather than My Documents. I have tried the work arounds in Win7 Gotcha's/Tips thread, but nothing seems to help. Any Ideas?

The main problem we have with Promethean boards, is either the Powersuplies burning out or the USB/Serial connectivity leads failing.

Probably machine specific, but any help will be welcome. When I add a printer, that is either network shared or local to the machine, I am asked to specifiy the device driver, nothing unusal there. I select the correct driver, either downloaded or from the manufacturer CD. I then get the following error, message. " Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator for help locating and installing a suitable driver." This error occurs on every printer I try and install, regardless of make or manufacturer.

Thanks for that, was slightly concerned that once a machine is activated it will take that one key away forever, regardless of it dying or being decommissioned....etc.

Hi All, Have been lurking in the shadows and decided it was time to sign up and join in. I have a quick question to ask regarding KMS. I know KMS client machine contacts the server side client to validate the license to make sure it is active. What happens if I License 20 machines that in a few years are no longer needed and go out of commission..will I get these 20 licenses back to reuse? Thanks.
