  1. I have a cpu and ram to connect up to it they will not be on the board but part of the box below so the students can connect everything. Same goes for replacement cables for the ones that have been cut!. Its a learning board, things had to be broken down to show the internal workings!
  2. Hammer was needed. Staple gun didnt quite go in far enough! It powers up and works and you can connect a working monitor/mouse/keyboard/usb drive etc The PC im thinking was about 6-7 years old, 20GB hard drive!!!!! Opened the power supply so the kids could see what was inside! Plastic outer casing has been made today ready to go over the display once i have added the label/text Thanks for all the replys
  3. Hi everyone Hope this is the correct forum to post in! Im currently working (not yet complete) on a display to show the inside of a pc LINK and was wondering if anyone else had done anything similar, im looking for my next project and not sure what would be best to attempt!
  4. I am wanting to hid the menu until you have logged in and i know you would need some code like body.notloggedin div.menubar { display: none; } But where in my moodle site, i.e what file would that go in.
  5. sorted issue!!
  6. Hi i currently have a moodle site setup and have been loggin into it with my admin account. I have been changing the css to make it themed for the academy. I thought i would try a test student account so logged in using chrome and it has kind of picked up theme, but not all of it the logos etc are missing. http://imageshare.web.id/images/9ovii9sih52lu5exs5fx.jpg anyone got any ideas as im at a loss
  7. Hi everyone Having a few issues with cachepilot and playing video for BBC iplayer. I have bbc website open for access but videos won't play and give the error "This content doesn't seem to be working. Try again later" Anyone been able to sort this problem with cachepilot, I am totally stumped!
  8. where abouts are you located?
  9. I printed that out other week :-s Maybe re adding it to my latest report for them will make them get the point!
  10. Glenda thats what i did last time, i have even done a themed moodle site with academy colours and a layout. My problem is they have seen this Iamlearning http://www.iamlearning.co.uk/images/room-main-image.jpg and think that is a VLE and that is how they want ours to look. I need to get them to understand that IAL isn't a VLE and what I have created is a vle :-( Its hard going atm, so was thinking this would be the best way to tackle this problem
  11. I know I have mentioned this before on this forum but the academy I work at have asked me to produce a VLE. I am just producing a document to cover all my bases and get them to think about each aspect of the VLE and how they want it set out (plan is to try and stop the goal posts been moved!) What I was hoping is people could give me some advice for certain areas for the report that I am unsure about. Point 1 is Platform, the options i am giving them: a) Moodle as the backend with drupal used as the front end. b) Moodle as the backend with Joomla as the front end. c) Moodle/maharah/drupal d) Silverlight/opensim/sharepoint Has anyone used any of these and wouldn't mind be using there's as a screenshot in my document? or any comments that I should include in these sections to help them decide (The SLT aren't not that familular with ICT!) Thanks for this everyone
  12. yeah but for the ks4 aspect they want something like u-explore Educational Products I just really dont know what they want there are so many ideas and different concepts going round!
  13. this is what they seen and think its a VLE http://www.iamlearning.co.uk/images/room-main-image.jpg Spoke to the iamlearning guys and they have confirmed they aint a VLE
  14. to be honest I'm not 100% sure what they want and the dfesign brief seems to more elaborate every time they update it!! They are just scaring me at the moment with what they are asking
  15. u want to try reading the whole email, its hurt my head :-(
  16. sorry i meant to implement what he wants, not how to link them all together I get that part! Its the wee mees :-s
  17. i know, i have no idea how to even tackle that!! Anyone got any ideas
  18. that was what i was thinking why do you need all 3! This has come from the director of ICT! this is a selection of the latest email As we develop ideas for student experience, it makes me wonder whether we consider (if it can be done) a series of weemee/iamable characters which students ‘grow’ look after etc for example let’s imagine a shelf above a desk which has a series of ‘characters’ on it (the desk has clock/calendar/computer etc – the ‘links’ to other aspects of VLE) – when you click character 1 (named by child) the link takes you to the Beta Enterprise Vitamins page, which is a log of the enterprise skills the student has displayed, character 2 is an Iamable that links to IAL (seamlessly as single sign on), character 3 is Human Utopia (little Carlo?) character plotting their progress with HU, character 4 is an APP character – plotting their progress against standards in ICT, English, maths etc I dont think they get why a VLE is, well a moodle site anyway :-(
  19. Is it just me or is it madness to combine all 3? Anyone tried this?
  20. stpaulscrompton is it right that you can see who likes you but cant see any of there wall?
  21. there has to be an easier way, like teachers stopping mobile phone use in school, rather than making this a technician issue!
  22. but then you dont know who is following you right?
  23. so what do you think is better a page or a profile (been a person?)
  24. elsiegee40 that is a good point you do need to be 13 to have an account, however we know this isnt the case!
  25. thanks, when i enter the school name as the name facebook has a bit of a fit saying i should use a page?!?! Ill have a look once the kids have left the building its a bit mad atm! thanks for advice :-D
