What would you do with 5 servers and a SAN
pauldredge replied to pauldredge's topic in Windows Server 2012
Did think ESXi free but then would have to pay for the vsphere but then limited with the one host unless the school paid. Was going to use hyper v with all the servers running 2012r2 which I have been doing today but with running failover clustering I havent got it doing what I wanted it to do. Currently everything is blank as its a new school thats been taken on. -

Off the top of my head I would say they are 2x quad cores. They are very well spec servers and also have 4 network connections on them. -

Servers are decent spec'd Dell 610s with 36GB RAM and 2x 146GB HD which is in Raid 1. The SAN is a Dell md3200i and after being in a Raid 5 it has nearly 5TB of space. -
Just wondering what peoples opinions would be for setting up of 5 servers with a SAN. The servers have minimal space which is why there is a SAN. VMWare is out of the question due to costs as is Citrix. I was planning hyper v with some sort of failover clustering. But what would all you other techies do in this situation?

Need x86 for tablets. The touch drivers are only available in 32bit format.
-
After x86 but could do with x64 as well.

@synaesthesia heres the link to the MSDN download of it. https://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/securedownloads/?#searchTerm=Windows 10 Education&ProductFamilyId=0&Languages=en&PageSize=10&PageIndex=0&FileId=0

Worked fine for me. Was able to download both 32 and 64 bit professional. Just wish the Education and Enterprise version was available through it.
-
Anyone got a link to Windows 10 Education edition. Don't want to wait until Saturday and don't have access to MSDN.
-
Both will be available through EES.
-
EES will include the Education version as well. LTSB means updates will be like they are now with service packs every so often and CB means there will be more updates more often. They are saying LTSB will be major updates every year or so with little security ones in between and CB will be updates every couple of weeks.

According to this Pro, Enterprise and Education will have bit locker. https://techjourney.net/windows-10-home-pro-enterprise-education-editions-features-comparison-differences/

Try updating the MDT share and selecting to completely regenerate the boot images. Then import them into WDS again. Take it you added the drivers to the out of box drivers in MDT? What version of MDT do you have?

Got it running on my Surface Pro and have been enjoying it. Can't wait to install it this summer at a MS Showcase school we work in.
-
Are people going to go for the enterprise version or education one?
-
What point do you get this error? Have you updated the deployment share and added the newly updated boot wim into WDS?
-
Server builds, server builds and more server builds. Thought it was going to be a quiet one this summer but seems our company have a lot of installs to do a various primary schools.

Outlook 365 Web App, Dont have permission to download attachments
pauldredge replied to DCUK6's topic in Cloud Services
Refresh sorted it for me. It seems they have updated how you attach attachments so guessing thats caused issues with some users. -
Apple only let you create 4 or 5 accounts from your IP Address unless you get it whitelisted with apple but they won't always whitelist your ip address and usually it takes some time to do so.

Its a primary school in Northamptonshire.

@free780 currently doing IT support for a MS Showcase school so they need to lead by example so they are wanting Windows 10 as soon as its out. Will only be on student devices as said and most of them will be off the domain anyway.

Microsoft got back to me this morning and the issues have now be resolved.

Yeah you can do that via an XML but its not the best solution and can still be flakey in my experience.
