I will be checking the switches in question tomorrow. What settings should these be on. (3com and hp switches.) I'm guessing I would have to change the setting on the core switch down the edge cabinet

Sorry to bring this back up. I'm trying to reimage a few computer connected on this vlan range. I got 18 computers to get going. I have managed to image 12 computers though wds. (these have had a few reboots to get going but they are done and almost up and runnning) I got 7 computers that wont get an IP address. I can cmd in when its happening and watching ipconfig they are getting a 169 address and crashes out. I do an ip config after the crash out its got an ipaddress. I have done a tracert and i have got this: I have managed to reimage a whole IT room without problem. (another VLAN)

I was messing around a windows phone earlier (Nokia 930) and got on alright with it. May make a jump to a windows phone next. Might have try a windows phone next.

It rooms get done every 5 years. Oldest spec now is 2nd gen i3 4gb 160gb HD. The old computers from the it room go round the school. I'm sure the SIMS server dose all the leg work. All admin or office computers are dual cores. Some are I3 and some are 8 year old pentum dual core which work fine.

Installed my ssd. Instead of messing around windows 10 key I'm gonna install windows 7. Install updates then install windows 10.

So I'm better off imaging my current set up to my SSD and then by using the recovery options in windows 10 to start fresh?

I got office 2007 on my home computer and that seems to work alright. (Did an upgrade from windows 7)

That was painless. Took about 45mins. Order a new SSD now so that should be here next week. Then I will try to install Windows 10 on that. All drivers are fine. I got a unknown against my HP Deskjet 3520 but it prints fine.

Am I better off running the setup on my current OS. (Just as a upgrade) Then wire and reinstall on a ssd. I'm about to order a ssd for my computer.

Its appering in the Windows update history "Upgrade to windows 10 pro" and failed? No idea why?

I notice i have a folder in the c drive around 5gb. How long till windows 7 tells me that I can upgrade?

So my partener is looking at doing photography couse after Christmas. I dont have a clue where to start and what to buy. (Or what courses to send her on) But i was thinking about getting her: Canon EOS 1200D DSLR (comes with 18-55mm DC Lens) Scan Disc 40Mb/sec SD Card 32GB Camera Bag. Unsure what else to start her off with. Any ideas?

Get out.... I just copied everything off my phone and sd card. Just factory restored my phone and it seems ok now. My Mrs phone camera is now dead so gonna take a trip to carphone warehouse and see what they can do. Also wanna drop my contract price a month.

I notice the topic has jumped. I'm with talktalk for my broadband and once that has ended I won't be going back. VM have not equipment in in the area. I want to drop my contract down by by a few ££ a month. May wait till the next generation (6s, note 5 ) as that should push the prices down.

I was looking at the S6 and the thought of no sd slot kinda puts me off a little. I know the iPhone has no sd slot but 64 gb is more than enough

I'm due an upgrade with EE soon. My note 3 is starting to play up since it firmware upgrade. I use spotify alot with offline play lists and taking photos and videos. I'm torn with an iPhone 6 64 gb or a note 4 with my 64 gb mirco sd card. Or even a Google Nexus 6 What would you go for?

I'm looking at getting a incar dvd player for the kids in the back. I have a 2009 renault laguna hatchback. I have a aftermarket head unit in tha car already I would like to have 2 screens in the back and be able to play movies though usb. Any recommendations?

Swapped the last cabinet in our dt rooms. Took the cabinet off the wall and one of the old cables snapped... (over tighten cable tie make it catch) Replaced one wire that was going the deputy head office with 4 new wires. Also ran new wires across the dt room in the beams. (Thanks to our caretaker who went up the ladder) All the fibre runs are done and connected. Just need some traffic going though them.

*looks round for his invite* I've done one our cabinets now. Just need switchs installed but I need a electrician to change the fused spur to the new power strip. Also need the firbe man to rejoin the splice as I had the fibre (I say me cut it... I got our network cabling guys to do it.) All the fibre runs are installed. Just waiting for the firbe man to install and test. It took 2 hours to get the new cabinet up due to horrible walls that dosnt look like it would take the weight of the new cabinet The next cabinet should be alot easier to swap as there no fibre spur. (He hopes) I'm also on hoilday next week

Your a brave man. I will install it on my workstation. I dont think i will be letting others use it yet.

So what projects do you have planned? I got 2 network cabinets to swap? (1 down already) New computers in IT room. > old ones are going somewhere else 2nd network is getting installed. Moving IP Cams and Door Access over to it. General server updates. I might move a few admin computers over to 64bit.
