I had similar issues at one point, the length and the quality of the cable were factors to consider. Smart recommend 5m of usb lead, but you can use longer if you use good quality cable but is unsupported.

I have an old Tandberg Edge 95 Video Conferencing system that I would like to re-purpose if possible into an IP Camera to use with Planet eStream. The idea being leaving a fixed mount camera in our theatre / assembly hall to record outside speakers and our performing arts showcases without taking up any additional technician time to operator, edit or take up any of the seating capacity further. Has anyone else tried to do this or something similar?

Morning All Have found a start menu replacement that looks almost identical to Windows 7, but the annoying thing is the donate link coming up for every user when they log on. Does anyone know how to suppress that so that we can use it without driving the teachers mad? Thanks

May be a stupid question but Safari doesn't seem to want to take the proxy settings from the user that has logged in. Windows user logs in to mac > opens Safari > prompted for credentials Where would I set the Mac to carry across the user information so they don't have to try it all in? One thing I would check when using jUpgrade is that the right database prefix is set in the component, as this caught me out and when I checked it worked perfectly

Teaching Staff I've also worked in two schools, my previous school allowed all teaching staff to have access to student directories to be able to mark work electronically (paper saving exercise) and when required to be able to print off students work to be put up for display or to hand in as homework. My current one, IT techs have access but thats where it stops. But have had a member of staff (IT Teacher) ask for it and just wondered really what other peoples practises were.

Just trying to find out what peoples opinion is to staff having access to student home directories. I have heard reasons behind not giving access to the students files as data protection act but cant find anything supporting a for or against arguement. Thoughts and comments please
