OK I have tried that and it tries to start up it asks what type of active inspire I want primary or studio then it crashes after that point ! any other suggestions ?

Sorry but where is the config folder on a mac ?

Hi I have a school that uses all Macs on open directory, all the teachers use active inspire fine, apart from one! When I login to this user and try and open active inspire it instantly crashes and the program has to be false quite! When I login as another user it works fine, there must be a corrupted config file on the users account but I can't find it ! Has anyone else had this problem on a mac? Thanks any help appreciated !

I think thats still going to cause a bottle neck as you need 2 full speed lans to the switch really ! I just wonder if open directory is a good idea with so many wireless laptops. Anyone tried mobile accounts?

thanks for the reply, I do think its just the number of laptops that we are using in one location as we never used to have a problem! Im trying to convince the teacher to try 15 at a time just to see if its better! I did speak to someone previously about it and they said that they had 2 APs per room, but its a bit impractical in this school due to not enough network wiring!

Hi Im working in a primary school that has over 60 laptops on the network and they are all using open directory, When the staff computer are on there is not a problem, but when the childrens ones are on there are always issues login in 30 laptops in one class at a time. We have airport extremes in all the classrooms but there still seems to be a issue when they all try to log on. What do other schools do with this many macbooks and do they all use open directory or log them on as local users?

Thanks I was thinking starting over may be the easiest way ! Yeah there is 6 Gb plus left on the HDs so should be enough space for service packs ! I left the server backing up tonight when I left, as when I checked no one had backed it up for 6 months!

Hi All Not really sure where to start ! Working at primary school at moment thats running a old 2003 standard edition server, it does not have any service pack installed ! and when someone did try and install a service pack it corrupted the server ! so had to be restored. School now has a new server so need to be migrated across but all the migration tools i found only work if the service packs are installed ! Also the server is running Ranger 5, will this work on 2008 R2 ? Plus I tried installing Sophos didnt work so called synetrixs and they have told me it will be christmas before Enterprise Manager V 4 will be avalible and working on 2008R2. So not really sure what to do ! and advice welcome !
