  1. We still have old Promethean boards and projectors. A number of teachers do not use the board interactively! , so to me a big tv would be ok for them to use as an extended monitor. This is a lot cheaper than a full interactive board. The others who do use them as interactive boards, we would go down the replacement Promethean Activepanel LX type. There s another I.T. are looking at but cant find the name. They are staying away from Prowise due to power supply failures. But as will other areas, no money available for replacements.
  2. We either have a cheap DVD player in the rooms, or we specify a DVD drive in the computer for the teachers machine only.
  3. Any errors that I see on a Chromebook, I usually Powerwash them to remove data/cache etc.
  4. Tried all the usual things to get this to charge or show signs of life, but no luck. We have had a few die, with no signs of working, and people mention it on other forums just randomly failing. Took one apart and could not see any blown parts, but when I removed the copper heatsink, the thermal paste was very dry, so I suspect that its the cpu thats dying. Might take a few good ones apart and renew the paste to see if they keep going.
  5. Ebay sometimes has faulty ones with good screens
  6. We have some - now old - surface pros, I.T. created an image from one device with Macrium Reflect free, one pen drive is set to boot up with it and the image is on the bigger one. Not used it recently, but that worked fine with older windows 10 and let it update after that.
  7. You have to get your school added to the list through SheerID, there is link there that you have to follow to put details in. Had to get my id on a letter from the school with Head teacher to sign and uploaded it at the point required. Pain in the .sre, took me about 2 months going back and too. Eventually had to get Autodesk directly involved ! Hopefully won't be as bad when I have to renew!?? Bring back the old way....
  8. We have lots of these, and they still are running, filters out, bulb out, cover off, disconnect pcb and remove, light cover off, twin fans out, rear fan out, Blow and lightly brush down, Blow out fixed fan and optics area until NO dust comes out. 4 screws remove 4 screws and lift away filter plate, very lightly blow filters and wipe gently if needed use reflection of light to see if there is any dust on them! Remove lenses one at time - note which way round! - 3 nearer lcd block when removed, blow lcd screen and wipe if needed gently. Reassemble carefully, all good. We clean filters every 3-4 months and do an annual inspection of the clarity of the image, and clean as required.
  9. Use a standard 1m usb cable plug into pc and into board directly at the top left and see if it works
  10. One of your 3 ribbon cables are not seated correctly.

  12. Hi, Had a similar problem, just reseated the bulb and it worked.
  13. Had a similar problem with a prm 20, Took the bulb out and reseated it! Hey presto it was working again. Bad contact due to heat?
  14. Hi, See someone has taken the plunge. Could you let me have a copy of your cleaning guide, we have a number of these projectors, and only today one has started showing signs of magenta, which googling means the dreaded dust ( on green panel). PS where did you get your service manual from? jim
