Hi Edd, I am also experiencing a very similair problem with Windows 7 clients. I have two 2003 SP2 DC's and one 2008 R2 DC. Here's the events i get on startup..... Netlogon 5719 - This computer was unable to set up a secure session with a domain controller in domain [Domain] due to the following: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. GroupPolicy 1055 - The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the computer name. Time-Service 129 - NtpClient was unable to set a domain peer to use as a time source because of discovery error. As you have mentioned above, disabling the Windows Firewall 'Public Profile' resloves the errors i am getting on startup. I haven't tried the DhcpConnForceBroadcastFlag workaround yet. I haven't logged a job with Microsoft yet but i plan to so it will hopefully speed up the hotfix. I've got one question for you. Are you experiencing these problems on wired and wireless networks? When i am on a wired network setting a static IP resolves the problem, but on my wireless network setting a static IP does not resolve it. I am going to look into the wireless network here to see what is causing it. Thanks alot for your post, as it has saved me alot of time troubleshooting even further !! keatho

I've just checked and are there are no quota's set for either the Teachers or Students. I might try setting quota's on both to see what happens. Also, I have two 2003 Domain Controllers and one 2008 Domain Controller. It could be that when the students use the 2008 DC as their logon server, the GPO settings could be slightly different to what they pick up from the 2003 DC.

A bit more info on what i have been experiencing..... So far it is only Students that are having thier Home folders or Files deleted and not Teachers. Both GPO's have the same setting EXCEPT for the 'Target folder location'. Here are the folder re-direction settings on each of the GPO's. Students Setting: Basic - Re-direct everyone's folder to the same location Target folder location: Redirect to the user's home directory Unticked both 'Grant the user exclusive rights to My Documents' and 'Move the contents on My Documents to the new location. Policy Removal - Leave the folder in the new location when policy is removed. Teachers Same as above except for, Target folder Location: Redirect to the local userprofile location I only just picked up on the two different settings for target folder location. Does anyone know if this may be why the teachers have not experienced any problems yet but the user's have? Thanks in advance for the response!

Hi, I have a very similar issue with users files and folders disappearing. I am using folder redirection with Win 7 / Server 2008. Can you tell me if your file server is accessing shared storage via hardware iSCSI initiator and also local storage via software iSCSI initiator? I have this setup and have just come across vmware kb article 1012279 saying it is not supported. I have also moved the local storage connected via software iSCSI onto a different File Server and the disappearing folder problem went away. Let me know if you had a similar storage setup.
