It really depends on what you plan to do. In general Wordpress is the most full blog engine, it might be efforts-consuming to build good looking galleries and degree plan. Drupal is fully-functional CMS, otherwise make a note that it is more community focused. Anyway you never mentioned that you expect your site to have community from the very first day. Joomla! basic installation package have no default community packages as it is in Drupal. So, Joomla! basic package is much lighter otherwise its inturnal strucrure is much more flexible. Besides more extensions are available for Joomla! than for Drupal. I recommend Joomla.

+1 for Joomla. The first thing I started was a blog. WordPless turned to be wonderful and when I needed a non-blog site I tried to use the CMS I'm familiar with. Frankly speaking it made me crazy. It seemed impossible to create simple category-based goods gallery and to make it look dignified. The problem was solved with Joomla. Now good working blog extensions are also available. So, it replaced WordPress for me.

The new community analytics initiative will enable employees to source and analyze massive amounts of data to power ideas and learning across the company. My opinion: It looks challanging not only for Joomla Community, but for eLearning software pros too. The integration between Joomla and LMS is a hot topic. They chose popular CMS as an alternative to complex ones and they will do the same for LMS. I guess Joomla and LMS integration is going to become even hotter! What do you think?

Advanced Parent Voice function. I mean not just forum, but some kind of communication tools. Here is just a list: - forums + chats, where parents and teachers can quickly exchange messages using embedded e-mail or the Dropbox tool that allows to exchange files without using e-mail, - announcements can be sent to parentss and shown on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, - live conference is a convenient feature for providing online communication between teacher and parents with the possibility to use virtual whiteboard, webcam, microphone etc. Communication tools will add some fun and will attract parents.

You mentioned open source Joomla and attracted me as a "fan"... Some time ago I also inspired to explore use of Moodle. I spent several months on exploration and then my enthuriasm was killed by deadline and I reallised that I should wind up wasting time. Then I recame Joomla fan. It is also open source by the way, you know. Moodle vs Joomla: As for me I usually use JoomlaLMS if the client wants a full Joomla solution and can afford it. If they are ok with a bridge and have the expertise for it then I go with Moodle. IF they do NOT have the expertise, they wind up paying as much for "outside help" with Moodle or Ilias as they would just going with a native solution to start with. Joomla based solution offers "more than plenty" features for any e-learning client. So, I can't vote for Moodle or Joomla, I vote both. Everything depends on a client.
