New EduGeek logo (draft)
Skoggmeiger replied to Dos_Box's topic in General EduGeek News/Announcements
Aha, this is where our paths take different directions Dos_Box. I wear a suit to work, and don't fit the stereotype I'm afraid. This is probably why the T-Shirt idea is non starter for me. I could be tempted by a small, but noticable tie-pin with a suitable logo, so we could almost be like the Masons. -

Me. Why are you so against wearing EduGeek clothing? I'm not. I personally wouldn't wear it. I rarely wear anything with a logo or brand. I just think there seems to be too much emphasis on creating a logo so it looks good on t-shirts etc, when I don't believe that many folk would wear one. -

Because of the witty and topical comments that they will have on them. Besides, with that logo, no one will dare steal a mug with it on! I can now see why many actors don't read the reviews of their films! Now a mug, is a different matter. I'd happily have an Edugeek Mug. My redstor mug is getting rather stained. I think you're looking at changing the logo for the wrong reasons, that's all. Find a strong and memorable logo by all means, but don't do it just so it looks good on a T-Shirt. Sorry if my previous comment sounded harsh. I was being honest though. -

Becasue it would not look good on t-shirts! In all honesty, who is going wear a T-Shirt with Edugeek on it? Why not have a straw Poll on the matter? Surely that will tell if there's any point changing the logo. I know I wouldn't. Over the years I've collected T-Shirts with brands ranging from Oki to Sophos, and guess what? I wouldn't be seen dead in one. I thoroughly enjoy Edugeek, but I'm not willing to advertise you for free on my body. Same goes for Nike et al. -
Surely the winner proves they are a lesser geek?

If you want an instantly recognisable logo, such as the vulture, then surely you need the stereotyped Geek, ala Wally, from where's wally? It could be argued that calling us Geeks, doesn't help much in the professional stakes though. Why not invite us all to come up with a new logo? -
Skoggmeiger City for the title!

I'm rather partial to watching Kabbadi.

I think you should have the title written purely in Binary. Whilst the new design is good, I agree with crc-cit. -
Always found it strange that "Swing Low" is used as rugby song. Isn't it about Slavery?

That's good stuff. It's just a shame that everytime I walk into an Aldi (or Lidl) I feel a little bit of my soul is sucked out of me. Why?

Have you tried freezing it?

File Scavenger 3 is what you need.

Of all the RTS games, I've never played Starcraft. Just got into Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, which is taking up a lot of my spare time at the moment.

I hope they do provide a good service for the EMBC. Maybe my people need to speak to the people from the LEAs where it works fine.

That speaks volumes about the state of I.T in this country. Before anyone asks, yes I deal with the aforementioned company on a daily basis!

Can anyone tell me why? Does anyone have anything good to say about them?

Any bloke that answers such a question with a romantic answer is a Big Fat Billy Liar. Lady Skoggmeiger gave me "that look" when she first saw this advert. I knew she was thinking I'd have given a similar reponse.

Not checked the link out yet. It's not the Hoffmiester bear by any chance is it? If it's your fave beer I'm guessing not. That leaves the Rutger Haur Guinness commercials. Damn they were good!
