  2. Setup on an internal IP. Standard web ports 80 and 443. It can read emails sent to a specific account so needs email access to the account. I have set mine up using pop (port 110) - it reads the inbox and adds the job to the system. I maybe able to get you access to a test system if your interested. Or you can download the vmware virtal machine to have a play with to see if it works ok.
  3. Im based in a Uni and we use ISA as our proxy server. With SiT running on port 80 or 443 we have no problem. It has changed a lot from the earlier versions with some major work done by the programmers.. The latest version is really good, and if you allow port 25 it will auto log jobs
  4. We use Support Incident Tracker - completly free and easy to customise... SiT! Support Incident Tracker Uses PHP but i use it on our Windows servers with WAMP.
  5. If anyone has the CHEST agreement, you can get Sophos VERY cheap. We recently got 1000 machines for 3 years for the cost of less than one year.
  6. Hello, We use a bit of everything here, vmware, hyper-v and citrix XenServer.... If you have cost constraints go for Citrix Xenserver - free for the basic version.. Needs a server with a CPU capable of Virtulisation and very easy to use. 1 Management interface - add the server and ISO share and away you go. VMWare - same as Cirtix - more expensive but will run on anything - have to check features for certain costs.. Hyper-V - Got a couple of 2008 servers up now and just doing some testing.. Im based in Liverpool and am quite happy to help out by the way.. Jeff
  7. We had hard drives completly dying...purchased about 100 pcs, and all of them had to have the hdd replaced, randomly just complete fail - not detecting the hdd at all. As i said though Stone support if top class, never had 1 problem with them whatsoever, and this was the first major failure we had with them...which was nothing to do with them anyway!!! Due to this though, and nothing to do with me we moved off Stone to another big supplier..(who's support isn't as good by miles !!!)
  8. Cannot PM yet as i don't have enough posts. Should be safe enough though, it was Stone Computers. To be fare quite a few pc manufacturers had the same issue with the hard drives (fujitsu if I remember) but the support we got from them was first class. A lot better than quite a few bigger companies...
  9. Hello, We had this problem a few years ago, they offered to send out an engineer and replace every hard drive from every machine in the batch that we had purchased. They would also do the imaging for us. They only thing that we forced was that the hard drive replaced had to be a completely different manufacturer, just in case it was a faulty batch from them.
  10. Disable System Restore on C: ! It is doing 'clever' things with drivers etc so that Windows can't find them... As can be seen by the multiple copies of the usbstor.* files (base usb drivers) under System32 and subfolders.
