I'm looking for a new hardware supplier for my school, the company we usually use has gone right down hill.. we're being told something will be here next day and end up waiting 2 weeks and there is no communication. I've looked really bad the last few month ordering things in for my boss telling him it would be here within a day when he's actually receiving it weeks later. One thing i did like about this company is that we had a dedicated person to deal with, if i wanted something i could browse the website and then email the account manager, she would process everything and it would be here the next day. So i'm looking for something like that and just a generic store i can order anything from quantities of 1 to many more. printers, inks, components, notebooks, laptops, etc.. any suggestions?

I suppose the reason i haven't done it yet is because i haven't done it before... i've been told by our service team that i should allow 2 weeks, although i find that hard to believe. I already have the 08 box setup as a second DC, but need the raise the forest functional level. the 2000 is still the main DC. Any advice on moving forward would be great? are there any plain english guides/info i can read online?

I'm aware of that we do have a 2008 server for when we decide to promote. one step at a time though.. it's just unfortunate that we must install the 7 pcs first.

Has anyone had any experience with joining Windows 7 Professional computers to a Windows 2000 Server domain? We just got 31 new PCs in school, i've added them to our 2000 domain but are having problems. First of all, logon seems to be taking a while. The computers don't seem to be applying the GPO's.. the proxy settings are left blank, but when i go to Lan Settings on the machine it says the settings are managed by an administrator, this is correct but it does this even when i login as admin, or as a local account on the machine, so there is no way at all to change the settings? i'm getting this on a lot of stuff. I have googled and have read lots about changing NTLM settings? changing some registry settings? but most of its on Microsoft forums and those forums just mess with my head (is it just me or are they so confusing to follow?) ... Hopefully someone here has been in a similar situation? Thanks.

I want to take our old ISA Server out of our network as it's no longer needed. I'm rubbish at explaining so this is what i want to do. Our original network; IP Range: 10.83.112.X Proxy: cachepilot / 8888 (local authority smoothwall proxy/firewall) The we got some software installed that ran from ISA Server, they installed a new server for this which is now used for the proxy. Network at present: IP Range: 192.168.16.X Proxy: firewall / 8080 (internal ISA server) Basically everything is now routed through ISA, i think it means we are behind a double NAT and it's causing alsorts of issues. I want to remove ISA and revert back to the cachepilot for proxy. Is this just a case of disconnecting ISA and plugging the internet connection into the 2nd NIC on our main server? and then change the address pool? clear dns cache on clients, allow dhcp to assign new ip's and change proxy settings? Any advice on this one?

We have recently installed 12. We love them and have had no issues. we opted for wired instead of wireless. Only in 1 room is the picture smaller than it should be due to height restriction but all other rooms have a really big and clear picture, interactivity is just as nice. We use promethean and also have easiteach but haven't bothered installing it since we paid a lot of money for promethean stuff.

Awesome downloading now

Are there any good apps to make use of a multi touch windows 7 box? we have a clever touch hd fusion with 24" touch screen but not much to do with it yet. any suggestions?

We nearly bought 12 of those short throw epson projectors but have just been told we need to buy a £500 licence to run promethean, PER CLASSROOM. We have the hubs to make activprimary function, do we still need that licence?

OSX behind ISA Server? does anyone use it? At work we have ISA Server 2004 and it seems OSX doesn't like it 1 bit. I can't use mail clients such as outlook and apple mail I can't access FTP Also, most recently... 'uploading' seems to have randomly broken. I use CloudApp and also have a MobileMe account. CloudApp did work, but not now.. i can't even login to the app. MobileMe works great apart from iDisk, i can't access it from OSX mount and i cant upload to it from a browser. The only browser that works well for me is Chrome... Safari and Firefox love throwing the firewall username and password dialogue box at me and randomly locking websites. Does anyone have any experience in this area it's driving me crazy.

still have lag. this is the scenario: out of 12 computers that map the drive from the new server: 4 mapped and worked just fine 4 mapped but when trying to access there was a 15 second delay before the drives content was accessible. 4 didn't map the drive all computers where in random locations, all wired, and all mapped shares from the other servers just fine. using the IP doesn't make any difference any ideas?

I've also been hit with: Event ID 4015 Cant find much information about this regarding windows 2008
-
There are quite a lot of DNS errors in the logs (god knows why i didn't check here first) relating to 'Event ID 7062' I've done this and did notice the server was pointing to itself. So far there has been no more errors, apart from: 'Event ID 4512' I think this is because i haven't created the default active directory partitions on the 2008 DNS Server? Our windows 2000 server still holds the FSMO roles as i haven't fully migrated yet.

Using the IP is working a little better but it's not instant like the other servers. Our other servers are running Windows 2000 so i haven't transferred any roles, i basically installed AD then installed SIMS.net.. It's my understanding that the other 2 servers would become out of use if i promoted the 2008 so i'm not really in a position to do that yet but it shouldn't cause problems with accessing shares? Even copying stuff over seemed rather slow. When it's accessed it once it loads up again quite fast, and some computers are assigning the share but when accessing the drive it fails. Others don't assign the drive and some work just fine.

There is a snag/delay when accessing one of my servers and i can't seem to work out why. It's a new server i've recently installed. It's attached to the same switch as 2 other servers that work fine. Its Windows Server 2008. I've checked cabling and updated NIC drivers, its a HP ProLiant ML350 G6 with Broadcom NICS (i've read they can be troublesome?) Where should i be looking? going to \\server1 loads instantly, but going to \\server2 takes about 10-20 seconds before the shares show up. Sometimes i get 'network path not found' Because it can't connect it's failing to map important drive shares for sims, giving a connection error every time a member of staff launches SIMS.net Any ideas?

So it will need to go out for repair.. thanks. We're out of warranty though so we'll be paying for this
-
Thanks for that. I'm at a loose end.. I don't want to buy a lamp if it's not the lamp as it's really expensive, and i don't want to pay for support (out of warranty) if it's just the lamp. lol Does it sound like there is an internal error or is it the lamp?
-
What is the soft thermal trip? does it need to be reset?
-
I've cleaned every spec of dust off lamp and filters, i don't know how to check lamp timer as i can't get anything on the display

hi, i'm having a problem with my SANYO XE 40. When i power it up the green light comes on and i can hear fans power up... however after about a minute the POWER light turns red and start flashing, then it powers down... i've tried the steps in this thread but it looks more like a button than a switch and can't be pressed. The lamp looks ok? and the 'replace lamp' light isn't on.. any ideas?

Microsoft File Server Migration Wizard... judging by it's current speed i'd estimate this to take over 24 hours.

The above tool is working away, but extremely slowly, like 1GB/25mins

I use Google Adsense on some pages, and on others i actually sell banner slots. e.g. £25 for 1 week. £40 for 2 weeks.. £60 for a month. But for people to buy this you need to have a site with traffic, it needs to be worth their while.
