  1. Unfortunetly not. This schools too busy to do anything around school time, i will try and do what i need to do today after school finishes and let you all know my progress. Going to try and connect the laptop straight to the projector and not through the box on the wall. If nothing else works then i will have to rebuild the laptop with a saved image, if there is one...
  2. I have not tried another display on that VGA port so i could try that and see if it's faulty. I haven't tried connecting the laptop straight to the back of the projector, so when i get some time i will do this. Very difficult during busy times of school, especialy when kids stay after school to do extra work because their so far behind!!! I will get back to you with my progress. Thanks
  3. Now this is very frustrating and i need to get this solved. I have had this problem for a while now and i'm on a time limit to get this sorted but i cant seem to fix it. A teacher is using his RM NBook 200 and he uses this with the Epson EMP S4 projector and a smartboard. What happens is, i connect his laptop up correctly for the projector to display his laptop screen onto the smartboard. However, all it does is stay on a blue screen saying NOT SUPPORTED with numbers at the bottom. Now i have done my research and read the Epson EMP S4 user guide and it shows that this problem is due to resolution and frequency. Now, here's where i get stuck. I have gone through every resolution there is on his laptop, i have even changed the frequency (refresh rate) of the screen from 60 to 70, 75, 80, 100.... etc and yes the screen flickers sometimes but still no image and i notice the numbers have changed at the bottom to where it says it's not supported. I have reinstalled chip set drivers, graphic drivers for the laptop, i have even tested another laptop, same model and it WORKED! so i know it is the laptop which is causing the problem. I compared the working laptop with the problem laptop and all information is the same. Same versions of drivers and resolution. It's just crazy to think i have gone through reinstalling drivers, changing resolutions and frequency's as told and still get no where. Now this all occured after i put in a NEW Lamp however i do not believe that's caused this problem, i was told by a member of staff this was happening before i arrived with the lamp. Any ideas? Thank you!
  4. Works now, downloaded the PCL 5 driver on network and added the printer again to client machines, thanks for the help.
  5. I'm also getting a member of staff waiting for 5 or 10 minutes while it prints a one page Publisher document which is in black and white, lanscape format. It just stays at the green loading bar near the end and after 5, 10 minutes it completes then it prints. Why does it take so long? The document is only about 500Kb. I have installed the Post script driver as stated above and then installed the driver on the machine. Just need to test it 100%, can't do anything around here during school time. It's horrendous.
  6. Hello there, At our secondary school we have some of our staff using Outlook 2007 on some of our client machines. Our recent problem we are having with one member of staff is that she sends an email out to all staff for e.g. our morning briefing email. After a few minutes it gets sent out again automaticaly. So we all receave two of the same emails. We used to have 3 repetitive emails at once but now its gone down to two. We did a test and we got her to send an email from another machine with her log in, we only recieved one email, this must meen it's a machine problem and not a profile? Does anyone know why she is sending double emails to us all? This is quite an important problem we need to sort out as she is the assistant headteacher and sends out emails to all staff quite often. Thanks.
  7. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks
  8. Hello there, First post, so bare with me to get this right! I work at a secondary school and we have a HP Laserjet P4015X printer installed on the network for the Office staff to use. This is used by about 5 people in the office. Now the problem we are recieving is a PCL error. When one of the staff prints more than 2 pages for e.g. 10 page document, it always prints a spare page in between with an error on the top left of the page. Because there are 10 printed, 5 of these pages would come out with the error. This is very frustrating for them and the only thing i can think of solving this problem is to reinstall the drivers on the server again. When you add this printer, it shows PCL6 on the title, i believe this is the type of driver being used? The error reads when printed out: PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL ERROR: IllegalOperatorSequence Operator: EndChar Position: 106 Any help with this to remove it!? Thank you.
